- The hypothesis that NIH is withholding FY25 funds to justify cutting the FY26 budgets is odd imo. There could be lots of other sinister reasons for them doing this, but the most likely explanation is newly acquired poor leadership and incompetence when it comes to getting new awards out the door
- What explanation would you have if awards are prepared and released by POs and GMSs, but no NOAs? What other steps are there except a purposeful hold? I'm happy to indulge less sinister options but what are they?May 9, 2025 17:54
- Yeh I honestly don't know. Maybe I'm just clinging to hope. Have you been able to get anything out of them in terms of what the holdup is?
- Me too. But my hope is fading. PO and GMS both said award is prepared and released. Was told I “should have results soon”, which I thought was interesting language. So 🤷♀️?
- Probably related to Berg's message earlier that DOGE/HHS is reviewing every NoA before it goes out. That might explain the "results soon" language too.
