- Reposted by Losing Our Minds at the End of the WorldIn the more immediate-term, I could also really use some gas money so that I can make a few deliveries today, as I’m waiting on a check to post tomorrow and need to make a few purchases today. Thank you! 🙏
- Reposted by Losing Our Minds at the End of the WorldI haven’t been active online in a long time because I went into a winter deep-freeze, but I’m thawing out now and there’ll be new @losingourmindspod.bsky.social episodes & pieces coming shortly! I’m excited to jump back in. (I also haven’t seen who’s followed me—if you’re someone I know, DM me!)
- Reposted by Losing Our Minds at the End of the WorldThis year saw the birth of a project that’s very dear to my heart, @losingourmindspod.bsky.social! - Reposted by Losing Our Minds at the End of the WorldHi friends! So my girlfriend is on her way to visit me from the UK, which is so exciting! But I’m also broke—I’ve been earning what I can with Instacart/DoorDash, but I’m still facing a ~$500 credit card payment next week. Anything you can send would help enormously! ❤️🙏 Venmo/Cashapp: claymationary
- Reposted by Losing Our Minds at the End of the WorldPlease get in touch if you’re interested in being a guest on @losingourmindspod.bsky.social! Experts & non-experts alike. The driving assumptions are: 1) everyone is experiencing this and so has something to say, and 2) everything relates to the end of the world in some way! DM/lomateotw@gmail.com
- Reposted by Losing Our Minds at the End of the WorldI live in an area of frequent wildfires and it makes me reflect, every year, on how easily we can lose the things we care about. Good, beautiful things that you might not think about all the time, and maybe things that you didn't expect to care about. That's why I care.
- Reposted by Losing Our Minds at the End of the WorldI make this very clear in the first episode of the podcast, but since it isn’t out yet, let me just say: this is not a doomerist project! I am not a fatalist! Not a nihilist! I have not given up hope and won’t until and unless we are all dead! By “end of the world,” I mean to highlight the gravity…
- Reposted by Losing Our Minds at the End of the World“It is definitely becoming increasingly common for people to have these overwhelming feelings about the world, … there’s a lot of people feeling the weight of the world upon them.” @borzoilover47.bsky.social in the upcoming episode

- Reposted by Losing Our Minds at the End of the WorldFrom the first episode: “The whole reason anybody ought to give a shit about the end of the world is because of the beauty and goodness of this world and its people.”

- Reposted by Losing Our Minds at the End of the WorldEveryone is saying millennials look younger for longer than past generations because of better nutrition or skincare or whatever, but honestly I think it’s the microplastics in our tissue. An old one from @losingourmindspod.bsky.social that you can subscribe to read: www.patreon.com/posts/110711...
- Reposted by Losing Our Minds at the End of the WorldRecording for the next episode of @losingourmindspod.bsky.social today! Stay tuned for that, and in the meantime, catch up on what’s already been released! www.patreon.com/LosingOurMin...
- Reposted by Losing Our Minds at the End of the WorldI got these within hours of each other and as I say in my response to the first, I hear this ALL the time now. The best answer I can give is: this is exactly why I started @losingourmindspod.bsky.social and that’s where I grapple with these concerns in a longform way. www.patreon.com/LosingOurMin...
- Reposted by Losing Our Minds at the End of the WorldThe people who told us we had to support genocide because the alternative is fascism are already the perfect little fascists.
- Reposted by Losing Our Minds at the End of the WorldDemocrats could be making moves to “Trump-proof” their alleged policy agenda while they still have the White House and Senate, as many of their supporters are begging them to do. Instead, they’re trying to end the world before Trump takes office.
- Reposted by Losing Our Minds at the End of the WorldEven if major legislation was passed reducing fossil fuel emissions, you know after 6 months conservatives would say, “See? It’s not working! We might as well keep burning them.” The entire systems of government, economy and media have to be such that moneyed interests can’t purchase public opinion.
- Reposted by Losing Our Minds at the End of the WorldLack of genuine community is going to kill us if we can’t build it where it’s lacking. The contradiction of millions of lonely people is unsustainable and our resilience as individuals is nothing close to what’s needed to face what’s coming, whether fascism or climate change.
- Reposted by Losing Our Minds at the End of the WorldIf the logical conclusion of what you’re arguing is “we’re fucked” or “there’s nothing we can do,” I’d be highly skeptical of your argument and you should be, too. There’s lots of evidence that we’re in for a rough ride, but I’ve seen no proof that collective efforts can’t have a significant impact.
- 👍
- Reposted by Losing Our Minds at the End of the WorldYou’re not the only one who feels like you’re losing your mind. Everyone I talk to has said this to me. This world is taking a toll on all of us, even those who are trying not to pay attention. Let this connect you to other people in solidarity rather than isolate you.
- Reposted by Losing Our Minds at the End of the WorldThe next episode of @losingourmindspod.bsky.social takes up the questions of what this is doing to our mental health and what we might do in turn. Please check out in the meantime the other episodes/written pieces (Eps. 1 & 4 especially deal with this) and subscribe! www.patreon.com/LosingOurMin...
- Reposted by Losing Our Minds at the End of the WorldSpeaking of NotEnoughResources, my Venmo/Cashapp is “claymationary” and I’d appreciate anything you’re able to send me :) I’m looking for work now, but meanwhile I need dental procedures not covered by insurance and my wonderful girlfriend is coming to visit me for Christmas, plus credit card bills!
- Thank you to all the new followers! Please check out what’s been released so far and *subscribe* if you like what you find! 🙏 There will never be advertisements and I want to keep the episodes & pieces public as much as possible—but that depends on subscribers! www.patreon.com/LosingOurMin...
- Reposted by Losing Our Minds at the End of the World(talking about the end of the world) Oh, so we’re really doing this?
- Reposted by Losing Our Minds at the End of the WorldI feel like I’m trapped in a cult compound with 340,000,000 other people. People are so far gone. The conspiracy theories people believe about everything and anything… very dispiriting. Possibly unfixable. Modern propaganda and mass media (and Covid!) have rewired people’s brains so badly. Goddamn.
- Expect Ep. 5 in the coming days! In the meantime, catch up on the first 4 episodes and 17 written pieces up on the Patreon now—and please subscribe if you like what you find to help keep the project going! $2 gets you into the Discord, $5 unlocks all bonus material... www.patreon.com/LosingOurMin...
- Reposted by Losing Our Minds at the End of the WorldI’m starting @losingourmindspod.bsky.social in part to look at this further and try to find sources of resiliency and avenues for action. It’s for my own sake as much as anyone else’s. I don’t see many people talking about this at all, let alone in an in-depth way, so I’m going to try.
- Reposted by Losing Our Minds at the End of the WorldI try to remember that whenever we talk about how much of a fucked up horror show the world is, what we mean is that the world is full of good people being wronged and beauty being destroyed, that we risk losing all of it—not a denial of the good in the world but its affirmation.
- Reposted by Losing Our Minds at the End of the WorldI think a scattershot “see what’s around you and be careful of X, Y and Z” approach is the best I can do right now, both in terms of general political organizing and specifically climate action. But I’d love to develop relationships between the project and some good orgs I know aren’t cults/scams.
- Reposted by Losing Our Minds at the End of the WorldAs part of @losingourmindspod.bsky.social, I’ll often discuss the importance of collective action—both for its political necessity and its effects on our mental health. Given this, it would be great if I could direct people to specific organizations doing work around climate action. Any suggestions?
- Reposted by Losing Our Minds at the End of the WorldAwesome that climate change wasn’t even an issue in this election!
- It’s not a virtue to put on a false face to spare people the inner turmoil of living on a dying world. You’re only making its death certain. We’re all bearing the psychological toll—probably in even more aggravated ways if we’re lying to ourselves that everything is mostly fine. We know better!
- Reposted by Losing Our Minds at the End of the WorldSomeone (@jnyfmg) shared this on Twitter—it’s called “Proximity”—and it reminded me of what’s so far the most viewed written piece on the @losingourmindspod.bsky.social Patreon: “Distance, Proximity and Ethics in a World of Interbeing”: www.patreon.com/posts/100318...
- Reposted by Losing Our Minds at the End of the WorldJust a @losingourmindspod.bsky.social update: the next episode (#5) will be coming out in the next few days, ending a hiatus that resulted from some now-resolved personal crises. I’m looking forward to putting out episodes more regularly (about every 1-2 weeks) now. I appreciate everyone’s patience!

- Reposted by Losing Our Minds at the End of the WorldThere can be no justice on stolen land, and no matter how high you pile them, you cannot build peace atop a mountain of corpses.
- Reposted by Losing Our Minds at the End of the WorldWhat should be obvious to everyone at this point: none of this ends without the destruction of the United States empire. The timing and manner of its collapse will determine whether anyone at all survives it, but the necessity and certainty of it ought no longer to be in question.
- Reposted by Losing Our Minds at the End of the WorldWe are already in a new age of unnatural disasters, and the only “plan” is to allow mass death for a few more months or years of profits. If we don’t organize the strength to stop them, capitalists will try to burn every last drop of oil and liquidate the entire planet to do it.
- Reposted by Losing Our Minds at the End of the WorldThis isn’t even “the new normal;” this is the new *best-case* state of our planet (if we stopped burning fossil fuels today). This is why I say 15 years is the longest I can imagine the current system lasting in Episode 1 of @losingourmindspod.bsky.social—they’re gonna try to burn every last drop.
- Read (here or, preferably, on Patreon) this piece from 2017 by @babadookspinoza.bsky.social on Marx’s frequent analogy between capital and vampires, using Bram Stoker’s Dracula as a point of reference. “Bloodsuckers: The Vampire-Bite of Capital” (1/2) www.patreon.com/posts/113218...
- “The life of the vampire is devoid of pleasure, stripped to the barest of trappings in order to pursue efficiently the one real necessity: blood. The process of procuring it seems hardly worth the trouble, given the miserable kind of quasi-life it sustains.”
- This is a piece I first published in 2017 on Marx’s analogy between vampires and capital, reprinted here within the @losingourmindspod.bsky.social project because I think it fits and holds up. Please subscribe if you enjoy! “Bloodsuckers: The Vampire-Bite of Capital”: www.patreon.com/posts/113218...

- Reposted by Losing Our Minds at the End of the WorldIt’s not just preference, either: “Israel” IS its genocide in Gaza and the West Bank. The United States IS colonial/imperial domination. These entities couldn’t exist as they do without genocide and colonial/imperial violence. May they both crumble before it’s too late for us all.
- Reposted by Losing Our Minds at the End of the World“Israel” would rather see the entire Middle East made a sea of smoking rubble than stop its genocide in Gaza and the West Bank. The US would rather bring about the end of the world than allow the Global South to breathe without an American boot on its neck. They must be defeated.
- Reposted by Losing Our Minds at the End of the WorldThis dead expanse of trash and emptiness is what the ruling class wants to make of the entire world. The vibrant community based in solidarity that had flourished here is what we want instead. Socialism or barbarism, liberation or death.
- Reposted by Losing Our Minds at the End of the WorldRemember Lenin’s revolutionary defeatism, and how the Bolshevik Revolution was made possible by the strains of WWI. In the coming years more fractures will form in the empire’s hold on the world, and these fractures will be opportunities to exploit. Now we must get organized.
