Millions of kids rely on the free and reduced-price lunches they get at school every day—and when school goes on break, they go hungry. I introduced a new bill to fix this by expanding Summer EBT to cover school breaks.
In the richest country on earth, NO kid should go hungry.
Great idea.
School districts try to distribute food and/ or meals during summer months. But that takes staffing, coordination and school building space.
Summer EBT would eliminate the need for school resources, and give $ directly to families.
