This tech accelerationism is training people to just do the appearance of work: a headline, art that looks almost normal from a distance, to complete things as fast as possible and move onto the next... it's dissolving humanity and culture at large
May 7, 2025 14:48It's all compounding. Journalism being kept behind a paywall, art being absorbed no deeper than surface level, consumption as activism and morality. It's all about the appearance of competence with zero substance. It's going to completely collapse sooner than later
I dunno man! I have been out of school for a decade, I can't even fathom what it's like to have The Cheating And Lying Machine be a trusted source. I remember not being allowed to use Wikipedia as a cited source because it wasn't considered properly vetted.
You're doing everything so fast, you can't stand taking a single moment to sit and think to yourself. What else is there? What are you saving time to even do? If you brush away the process of learning and growing and thinking what even is left?? Christ
In economics, there's something called the greater fool theory. It's the idea that you can buy something you think is worthless and re-sell it at a profit to someone who is a greater fool than you.
This is what it feels like everywhere now. People making and selling things they have no faith in. /1
And what are we accelerating toward, and for what reason? Existence doesn't have a purpose other than what you make of it and money is just a tool. None of it makes sense to me and it's a reason I wake up with anxiety regularly.
It operates on the same consciousness level as Techbros CEOs
Our family started a graphic novel project around these future forward , looking back topics. Scary stuff this decade as hyper-novelty continues its assault on humanity.
You nailed it.
Like being a freelancer who is paid less per job every year so has to work more so work suffers so no longer gets the well-paying jobs and so on ad nauseum
omg, they're doing Potemkin Labour
forcing people to get things done as fast as possible within a set of strict rules means theyre gonna be ass. my teachers used to be disappointed in me because my doodles always looked so much better than things i turned in for assignments. like i do NOT know how to draw tanks i draw cats n shit
If someone doesn’t have a sense of pride or standards, then it’s hard to convince them to do the work of making something of actual value. I dunno man, it’s sad
Same in schools. We are overwhelmed by AI responses to very easy writing assignments. To get an actual assessment of critical thinking skills, we have to shut off AI entirely, and the kids are lost when we do. Alarming.
Because these techno fascists are misanthropes with no appreciation for what makes us human.
A real "Jesus is coming, Look Busy" era for people atm 😬
it’s freaking me out and it seems like it’s ramped up so much over the last month or so
Add AI that’s stupid to the list.
It’s the technocracy that Elon’s grandfather dreamed of
It's terribly sad
