- For fans of The Expanse, the closest modern equivalent to the Earth/Mars rivalry has got to be India/Pakistan. One is a militarist offshoot of the other, they take potshots at each other, similar culture/language and they respect and also hate each other. What do you think?
- Timely paper simulating the climate effects of a nuclear exchange between India and Pakistan. Even though the number of weapons and yields are lower than the US/Soviet scenario, I was surprised to see that the atmospheric soot and ash can still affect food supplies for billions.

- Met a 10 year old patient in the ER the other day, who looked up from her elaborate Minecraft build on her iPad, calmly told me her diagnosis (a rare type of cyst) based on advice from an AI and suggested a treatment plan. She was right too! I think the kids are going to be alright.
- Ventilation on commuter trains is often quite awful. Not holding my breath that this measles exposure and outbreak will change that.

- 🇨🇦 looking for alternatives to 🇺🇸 for their vacations should seriously consider southern Europe. Just came back from Portugal. Warm and friendly people, they love kids, good prices, very safe, freshest tastiest food ever, 1st world infrastructure, lots to see.

- I wasn't on duty yesterday when this happened, but watching our emergency response systems light up and coordinate minutes after this happened was amazing to see. Patients were taken across the city and seen and treated within minutes of arrival. No deaths, thankfully. Bravo!
- Got a chance to speak to CityNews Toronto about a big wave of Flu cases, with the effect being felt across North America. It is impacting elderly and young children the most, who are filling hospital beds.

- What's frustrating is Trump's campaign against allies and friendly countries is barely an issue in US media. Check CNN, Fox News, NYT and no one cares. They've never had to. But it will impact US prosperity and security for generations to come.
- Wrote this earlier but reposting now that the lab leak hypothesis is gaining ground. There were multiple interlocking mistakes that led to disaster in 2020. If it was Gain of Function research that created SARS2, the lack of airborne precautions guaranteed that it would spread.
- In the last 3 weeks, almost all of the viral swabs I've ordered are coming back positive for Influenza A. Be careful out there folks!
