- Is this medical freedom?
- The idea that birthright citizenship isn't guaranteed isn't a "once-fringe" theory, it's a factually incorrect farce pushed by full-of-shit bigots and lunatics who rely on idiots at the New York Times to launder their extremism. www.nytimes.com/2025/05/14/u...
- Executives at Warner Bros Discovery fired thousands of people and then spent countless millions of dollars on consulting and marketing related to the Max name change. We have a broken economy built to protect and reward incompetent clowns.

- MUSK, in Riyadh: "My prediction, actually, for humanoid robots is that ultimately they will be tens of billions. I think everyone will want to have their personal robot. You can think of it like, as though you had your own personal C-3POor R2-D2. But even better. @cnbc.com $TSLA

- Very important to be fair to Donald Trump over the $400 million plane he’s accepting from an autocratic country. This is what journalism is all about. Generations of reporters will remember your bravery.
- TODAY the NYT publishes an investigation into the Trump memecoin $TRUMP and how it has turned into a extraordinary venue for foreign influence campaigns. What we are seeing is potentially corrupt attempts to change US policy by paying the Trump family money. This is no "Russian Hoax" nyti.ms/4kkv7D7

It is not corrupt to take an action that aligns with the interest of a person who gives you a gift, unless the official action was in direct response to that gift--a bribe. Terms matter. Accuracy and fairness matters. Regardless of what social media wants.

- Do not use the term “work requirements” to describe what Republicans want to do to Medicaid. Nearly everybody on Medicaid either already works a job or has a disability that prevents them from doing so. Republicans want to use new bureaucracy to strip poor people of their health insurance.
- Goalposts get moved so far and frequently for Trump that getting walloped into temporarily delaying the most damaging parts of a debilitating trade war is treated like a great success and sign of sober leadership. Participation trophy president.
- I guess if there's any kind of plane I'd want Trump to accept, it's a used Boeing
- Knicks trail Boston by 16 in the second quarter, so they’ve got the Celtics right where they want them
- After the 2020 election I ordered a Cameo from Judge Jeanine encouraging my friend “DT” to get over being fired from his job and move on.

- Who wants to see the new pope’s college yearbook photo?
- What if the new Chicago pope makes Rome adopt deep dish pizza??
- NEW: Colorado Gov. Jared Polis has a big choice to make. Sign the newly passed Worker Protection Act, which makes it easier to unionize *or* Commit "political suicide," as the state AFL-CIO leader put it to me. "If he vetoes this, he's ‘Right to Work Polis’ from this point on. He's cooked."
- Update: Polis chose his ultra-wealthy friends over working people. With Democrats like these, who needs Republicans? coloradosun.com/2025/05/08/j...
- Jared Polis, net worth $400+ million, chose his rich friends over working people. He also chose them over any future career in the Democratic Party.
- Knicks just traded for the new pope
- NEW: Virginia Democratic Gov. candidate Abigail Spanberger confirms that she would *not* repeal the state's anti-union "right to work" law. This should be disqualifying. Democrats should not have cleared the field for Spanberger. Now organized labor has to withhold support until she changes this.

- That’s not the allegation I made at all. I believe in pressuring politicians. You believe in settling for whatever the party gives you. Take a look at how much power Democrats have right now and you’ll know which approach loses elections.

- It’s not at all disingenuous! Compare union density between right to work states and full union rights states, it’s not even close. Not pushing for better candidates and lapping up the useless slop politicians who fail working people is for people who don’t mind losing election.

- Tolerance of union-busting? No. Litmus tests are for people who believe in things. Pressuring politicians is how things change. Just accepting whatever Democrats offered is how we got here.
- Sesame Street just laid off 20% of its staff, including people who’d been there decades. So while well-intentioned, this actually comes off as a bit insensitive and flippant.

- I have some friends there and it is very grim right now. Return to austerity budgets, fading cultural relevance due to the explosion in streaming kids content, internal mistakes to rectify… bleak stuff.
- Mikal Bridges.
- Driven by Kirsten Gillibrand, who also literally screamed Democrats voted to fund Trump's government. These people are worse than useless.
- BREAKING: Democrats reached a deal on a stablecoin bill that will give them a fake amendment on Trump crypto corruption that is designed to fail, so collaborators can say they did the best they could. "Schumer 101," said one source. prospect.org/politics/202...
- And they did so by overcoming the strictest ballot initiative requirements in the country
- Sounds ike something Andrew Cuomo would do
- Why don't the cardinals just use AI to pick the new pope?
- This was a really fun conversation and I think you’ll really enjoy it (unless you’re either a super old Democratic member of Congress or Andrew Cuomo)
- I chatted with @jordanz.bsky.social about the wave of people signing up to run for office, WHEN WE'RE IN CHARGE, and NYC politics, among other things. (Forgive both our kids yelling in the background!) www.progressreport.news/p/when-chuck...
- He looks like shit tbh
- Andrew Cuomo will run an independent ballot line called “Fight and Deliver" ... even if he wins June's Democratic primary: bit.ly/42Nc12s
- Trump says that he's ordering a refurbishment of Shawshank prison so no guys can sneak out to Mexico anymore
- Did somebody tell these people that they get shot immediately upon leaving office? It'd explain a lot, actually...
- UPDATE: Democratic sponsors in the House will move forward with the Worker Protection Act on Monday morning
- Trump has also been posting about movies today, so it's pretty clear that he's just on a Nicolas Cage kick right now. Maybe next he'll announce that he's going to build a wall around the Declaration of Independence.

- While also accusing and suing everybody else for antisemitism!
- It is a little weird to me countries aren’t more aggressively, formally trying to take advantage of the U.S. science brain drain. Once in a lifetime opportunity to buy low on Non-Dumbass Americans with PhDs who just wanna look into microscopes and quietly cure ass cancer as our country eats shit.
- Working on a story about the NIH defunding right now. As soon as it’s clear who is losing out on grants (and which young researchers can’t find jobs), the exodus will begin. Right now, many are in a kind of stasis, waiting for the worst, not wanting to believe it’ll really happen.
- And far too many fellow American Jews act like it’s perfectly justified or even deserved, as if being historic victims of genocide gives a people a free pass
- Mark Warner is up for re-election next year and if people weren’t already considering primarying him, they ought to start right now.
- The entirety of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health was wiped out last night in a form letter sent by RFK Jr. NIOSH is an agency in the CDC that investigates workplace hazards and finds solutions. It protects workers, so it’s gone. Even firefighters.

- NIOSH does the scientific investigations and makes recommendations to OSHA, as well as administers its own programs.
- NEW: Talks over amending Colorado’s anti-union “right to work” have fallen apart after business lobbyists rejected Gov. Jared Polis’s compromise. Democrats will move forward with the full repeal and dare Polis to veto the most important labor law in 80 years. Via the state AFL-CIO:
