- K-State came THIS close to winning this one in the bottom of the ninth, too. Seth Dardar doubled with two outs and Dee Kennedy on first; an absolutely perfect relay throw to the plate got Kennedy by a hair.
- A week after a weekend in which K-State knocked off the #4, #24, and #25 teams on consecutive days, they ran into the #2 team in the nation... ...and took it to extras before falling to LSU. Hell of a baseball game.
