- Missed the jam deadline with the salvage game, ran into some bugs with the bots that really threw a wrench into things and I didn't end up getting the core loop finished. Not sure if I should finish it up now or shelve it, probably should get it out at least? Gotta get better at scoping small stuff.

- Every time I start to think "Maybe I should have used unity instead of godot just because it looks better on a resume" Unity helpfully comes along and demonstrates another reason why I wouldn't want to use it lol. If any studio is looking to switch I have been using it for ~5 years, message me!

- Good on the @morecivilized.bsky.social crew for the decision and the courage to talk about it honestly on the podcast. I've been listening since the start and to most of them on other podcasts before, anyone getting angry about this really needs to examine themselves.
- Heyo fixed an annoying critical bug with my salvage bot state machine I might be able to get something submitted after all, gonna need to cut initial scope and work hard next few days to get an economy and loop going but making progress. Arts gonna be bad but hey nothing new for me lol
- This is dope, I have implemented my own drop shadow and the sprite stacking pseudo 3d effect before, and some real janky IK stuff for the chomper game, excited to compare solutions so I can compare the differences, I don't get a chance for real code review so having a direct comparison is great.

- Like come on this article is well written and pretty much correct I think, but the comments are just ignoring the word "industry" in the title and acting like everything is all good because thousands of games come out on steam every month? Do people think all those games sustain the devs?

- Lmao the headline and description are downplaying this, he didn't do it to make an antivenom, he did it because he was obsessed with snakes and then a scientist found him later. Dude has to be so smug now to all his friends and family that told him to stop getting bit by snakes, amazing.
- Not gonna be a game industry left by the time this comes out lol and they are definitely gonna charge $100 at this point. I really don't think this is going to bump sales across the board like some industry analysts seem to believe, would like to be proven wrong, but a delay is rough either way.

- The giant bomb wiki was amazing, like an overall wiki of video games. I hope someone has been able to preserve it before Fandom does the obvious stupid thing I am sure they are gonna do, and I think you could build a community around it so hopefully it lives on in an independent form.

- Giantbomb was the first game website I really paid attention to, fell off watching over the years as the people I started with moved on, but always respected the site and current team for keeping the torch burning. Seeing them get screwed over by corporate overlords like this is heartbreaking.

- Sent in some very promising applications today, if I don't get any call backs or interviews from these I think I will need to just get a delivery job or something until I can get back into games. Going to be a ton of time and energy for bullshit money but not gonna have much of a choice.

- Little bit of house work putting up some shelves, few promising job applications, some decent work on the salvage game, had a productive day I needed a good one for my mental health. Life goes on.
- Salvage Game coming along, got little salvage drones to turn junk into usable chunks and collectors finding and grabbing them, tomorrow going to get the basic stockpile and ability to build new drones out of it and get the loop going, will take more tweaking but going good! Devlog later this week

- Good day with the kids at the exploratorium, will have to pack more next time and make a day out of it the little one could have played in the light/color area for hours. Gonna lock in on the salvage game tomorrow and this week, should have something to show by the weekend, I'll post another devlog
