- I don't care how easy it is to indict someone in a grand jury case. Anyone who actually voted to indict Dugan, and anyone who testified against her, has failed a very basic test of humanity.
- The breathtaking gall it takes for WaPo to defend the cowardly decision to hide the names of the authors of the HHS report at a time where gender-affirming care providers are routinely doxed and threatened by extremists, both private and state actors alike. But sure, their feelings might get hurt.
- Kohm's comment tries to obscure the fact that this was a "shock and awe" campaign, a tidal wave of hundreds of bills at a time, often dozens in a single state to overwhelm every grassroots and legal org so no one could meet the moment. The number is the story, just as much as the bills that passed.
- The article cites numbers from HRC, ACLU, and Trans Legislation Tracker for 2023, 2024, and 2025 - which are all in the ballpark of each other. But you don't get the full story w/o looking further back. They were _much_ smaller before. docs.google.com/spreadsheets...
- Miss me with the study order excuse. Any "strategy" that involves sidestepping a clear statement of direct support for trans youth at a time that they're being relentlessly denigrated and attacked is not only not good enough, it's cowardly and offensive. Do better. 📢 www.massdems.org/contact
