  I want to be optimistic that there will be a quick learning curve with the new job, but I am afraid that might require taking a more nuanced view on the legacy in Vancouver. One of the panelists had a good take on this.

  In Canada many aspire to be homeowners. @lausterna.bsky.social and I have proposed a dual measure of "housing frustration", the ability of young adults to form independent households and the ability of middle aged adults to achieve homeownership. We should probably pay attention to both.

    Spoiler for a piece coming out tomorrow morning. The Liberal platform has a lot to like on housing, but it's very rental-focused. The federal government must also restore the dream of homeownership while continuing to improve the rental market.
