Jeff Veillette
Former new kid on the block, modern-day washout, hockey guy in ever-evolving capacities (and a lot of Leafs, Canucks & NHL posts in the meantime), may or may not like me better on mute (vey-yet)
- For the record this is false @atomic-z.bsky.social. You will under no circumstances catch me contributing to the place they call Threads
- Incredible
- I'd respond to them to say I'm doing great, but I was banned from /r/Leafs immediately after a guy who had a baseless grudge with me from Twitter (he baselessly accused me of doxxing him, some of you know him) became a mod I use a pseudonym on Reddit now anyway, allows for convos without blind rage
- Funniest thing about the pseudonym thing is that every account that has ever said a nice thing about me on Reddit has been accused of being my burner, yet I've never been called out in years on my actual burner. Other than not talking about myself, my comment history isn't really trying to hide
- Can't believe it's finally happening. Would love to see Jo crush it on a big club. I haven't cared about a European team in a long time, so if he goes somewhere I somewhat like that could tip me back in

- He's been linked to a whole bunch of places, didn't mean West Ham specifically

- Love to see it, y'all deserve it and more
- I will have a lot of work to do when the Canucks finally do the right thing and let me run the team in 2034
- 104% of the time, it works every time
- Sound gets it. If there is anything resembling Leafs bias, it's not that the NHL hates them, it's that the league would prefer to turn a blind eye to as much as possible, but that's impossible in Toronto and they don't want to be accused of favouring them. So they get the steadiest measuring stick

- It's Spezza for me. That game was a bloodbath with Winnipeg instigating, had the book was thrown at the vet with the squeaky-clean record because he finally had enough, thrown so hard that even Bettman thought they went too far. ...Sidebar, hey I wonder who coached those Jets

- Today the Alfie hit would get praised as stoic leadership instead of just a missed call, the Roberts hit would be five games, the Domi hit 30 (ok the last one’s probably fair)
- On the off chance I have Toronto followers who don't care about the Leafs and don't mind the weather that want to go to the TFC game tomorrow, give me a shout. I've never seen the resale ticket market worse in my life so I'd be open to sliding them someone I know. (I've got hockey work to do)
- I'm kinda tempted even though I really have too many chores piling up to entertain this. Lemme chat with my wife in the morning. Don't hold them for me but I may give you a shout tomorrow?? Have never been to a TFC game...
- They ended up selling, to my surprise. I have a few other games I won’t be able to make this year so there may be another chance! (Alternatively, still really cheap to grab someone else’s tonight, some are going for $10 each fees included on TM right now lol)
- I cherished that year. That staff was probably my favourite I ever worked with on the writing side, I'm still friends with basically everyone and miss them dearly. A lot of VAN twitter thought I was just a mercenary from Toronto but cherished the chance to talk Canucks more.
- I also think we did a lot of good in taking CA from an all-time great hockey brainstorming platform to a well-oiled machine, even if I wasn't in my own personal creative prime. JD, Biech, Harm, Quads etc obviously gave that ethos even more juice afterwards. Will always have love for the platform.

- I will say the "we want Florida" thing is the most out of context clip in history lol. The Leafs didn't have a confirmed opponent yet so the crowd at the square kept alternating between Boston and Florida. It was a generic "bring on the next opponent" thing, they didn't actually pick a preference
- I think most of my following on here is probably familiar-face spillover from Twitter, where I had ~7x the following. How that all happened over the years, I don't know. Consistent growth from a zillion different things. Some of them maybe even deserved, but mostly belligerence
- My facebook feed is full of stuff like this. Dead Internet is real

- Yep Just a quick glance, CanadCopy appears to be 50-70% cheaper than Vistaprint. Ajax-based so you can skip shipping too if you don't mind picking them up
- [Not loaded yet]
- That might be even better tbh. I mostly just mean buying in certain multiples.
- Idiocracy Was A Documentary
- How many do you need? I've used Canada Copy for Royals/Dogs stuff and they're reasonable if you order 5 or 10
- Famously the only temperature-affecting moment in this series. It was so chill before the benevolent league let him get away with it
- Based on how long it’s taken him to do anything, the more information he wants is probably “where’s MY free jet”

- Cowan / Schremp?
- Wasn't much talk of this one last night but I remember when Kadri got fined for doing the same gesture to Giordano. Shame the ref had no way of seeing this one

- Just a real shame that none of them could catch a glimpse of it
- McDouble, McChicken, Small Coke Zero, probably from the Union Station McDs, $1.39 here but same idea. What an era that was. Now a McDouble is $3.49!
- McDonald’s in 2025, on the other hand
- As much as I can agree that it was shitty, still insane to me how many media types have come out against the Domi hit at the end of the game despite saying nothing about anything else that happened in that game or in the series. Just an absolutely insane double standard

- I think that one's hard to enforce because of the lack of contact and the rules of intent to injure being really muddy, as frustrating as it is What he did to Guentzel in Round 1 was clear sore loserdom though and that got a slap on the wrist
- No no, it was near the end of the game and the Leafs were losing so that’s sending a predatory message. Hey, why are you showing me Tkachuk on Guentzel? That’s just a player showing us his brand of playoff hockey, you just don’t underst-
- Domi should probably be suspended. Hell, I personally would be happy to see someone like Robertson come in and take his place. It should also be like the fourteenth suspension of the series by that standard, and demanding that we treat it as a particularly special attack is ridiculous.

- “He’s hurt” excuses some of his other failures too, though “he’s always hurt by spring” becomes its own more genuine issue

- No idea. This stop is like 5 minutes from home so I just walked, just thought it was insane for a major route
- Let it be known loud and clear: Sending a message is only a bad thing if the victim is physically able to remember the message afterwards

- Based on this thread I’m like 90% sure I just transited out of your hood a few minutes ago
- We’re going to get political assassination coverage for the Domi hit for the next 72 hours btw
- It is, and it was incredibly stupid. But it’s also like the 14th worst hit thrown in this series and the 3rd or 4th worst this game, so let’s see if its going to get the most attention now
- On one hand 2-2 is better than I expected at this point, on the other hand the Leafs were meh the other night and awful tonight, and if that’s the norm they won’t be able to beat the Cats, let alone the Cats and the calls. Tough sledding now, we’ll see
- That’s interference but that sure as shit better not be more than two after review
- Thats chest all the way. Rodrigues cashing in his embellishment from last game
- Okay, they did the best they could do post-hoc there. Probably should be coincidental but that’s fine from the time of review on
- You know the calls have been one sided when even the Sportsnet panel is saying the Leafs are getting jobbed here
- [Not loaded yet]
- That’s a big step for them still
