- The iPhone is nearly 18. There are now ~7billion smartphones. What, pray tell, do we use them for? Ear buds walk us down the street plugged in like Johnny Mnemonic, phone zombies. We're creating our addictions & "Amusing ourselves to Death" (Postman) and some very smart people I know say, It's fine.
