- I tell ya Tammy Bruce is gonna be a 🌟! Her presser was quite the event especially from 6-10 minutes. 😅😅 #TammyIsAwesome www.youtube.com/live/oy2JOqH...
- Great to host Vidya Navaratnam MTWCentre. Her seminar places supportive care at centre stage! Raises really important questions about care at end of life & impact on survival and hospitalisations. Needs urgent further study! @kerrijohannson.bsky.social @kaminskimed.bsky.social
- Scammers playing on my ego! 🤣🤣 Just as well awards are not my motivation for doing science and medicine! #CureIPF
- Over yrs involved in #MedPublishing I have spent much time a) trying to obtain peer review & b) answering author complaints about delays due to lack of peer review. This invirtuous circle is getting worse. Should we a) dispense with peer review altogether or b) outsource to AI or c) something else?
- Found it strangely reassuring as I reflected on my recent exploration of Istanbul, London & Siena. The history & complexity of these wonderful places reassures me Europe will withstand current challenges & emerge stronger, more vibrant than ever. I hope random younger countries fare so well. 🙏🙏
- What happens if you get stuck in a room with nothing but a pen and paper? Feel free to send suggestions for more ideas to add to my picture representing the pathogenesis of ….
- Over on LinkedIn, the head of the Executive Secretariat of the NIH -- a central part of NIH leadership 🧪🩺-- resigned with a lettter worth reading www.linkedin.com/posts/nathan...
- Jeepers! That is some resignation letter!
- I was asking myself why I and so many others found this so triggering! Then I realised it’s classic victim blaming, a common feature of misogyny and also used to suppress minorities with whom one might have beef.
- And of course the gaslighting!
- www.medpagetoday.com/opinion/faus... Interesting to see what the journals make of this. It will cause chaos @thelancet.bsky.social

- My major concern is your government knows this (Stalin did it and how many positive breakthroughs have come from Russia 🇷🇺 since?) and yet they still do it, so why? What is the alterior motive?
- Not sure how this bad news passed us by from the end of 2024! Maybe we were preoccupied by other things?! 😱 www.fiercebiotech.com/biotech/amge...

- It’s a popular pathway to target, but I tend to agree with you.

- So the next question is a drug effect or a target effect. I guess time will tell.

- I know! Resoundingly negative!
- If JD Vance is so concerned about free speech I expect the US will stop banning books and allow all words to be used in research proposals?
- Disappointing news from Pliant on Friday. No news of detail but likely that DSMB noted a safety signal based on v. brief press release & prior data inhibiting avb6 integrins. 😭 Market reaction brutal! 😳 @kerrijohannson.bsky.social @kaminskimed.bsky.social
- Screw Google for capitulating to this childish nonsense.
- Fun & quick act of #Resistance Google ‘Gulf of Mexico’ ‘Gulf of America’ will be returned Click 3 dots next to ‘Gulf of America’ Click send feedback Click general feedback Click inaccurate content Click misleading & type why in the share details box. Job done ✔️ @kerrijohannson.bsky.social

- So the last 10 years have been the hottest on record! Odds of 3/1 that UK in 2025 will be wettest on record and will have hottest day on record. So more likely than Spurs getting relegated and only a little less likely than Chiefs winning Super Bowl! 🙄
- Am I the only person who thinks it’s gonna drive Trump to distraction that the only thing people will ever remember about yesterday’s inauguration is Elon’s Nazi salute? 🤔
- 100% agree UK access for people aged 65yr+ or 50yr+ with immune deficiency. This is not about population benefit/herd immunity it’s about staying healthier for longer. I would have it tomorrow if I was eligible.
- This is a super interesting study and may help explain why high rates of collagen degradation are associated with fibrosis coz collagen fragments are recycled NOT necessarily degraded. Kudos @tranejoan.bsky.social & team!
- Anti-fibrotic use associated with improved survival in IPF. Any data demonstrating this direct effect of drug, or is it consequence of improved delivery of care associated with the introduction of a new class of drugs? @kaminskimed.bsky.social @kerrijohannson.bsky.social @drdayjee.bsky.social

- So sad that in the last 12 months Jasper and the Palisades have been lost to wildfire. Sadder still the conservative governor of Alberta blamed Liberal federal government & the Republican president-elect blamed Democratic governor, & so nothing will be done about what is really to blame. 😢😢

- I gotta few issues with that tree.
- Fab day at 13th Jules van den Bosch ILD symposium in Woerden (cute little 🇳🇱 town). Great talks from Sara Tomassetti 🇮🇹 describing distinctions in evolution from ILA-ILD (>20% radiological involvement), Coline van Moorsel 🇳🇱 on genetics in IPF (40% causal variants found in FPF in 🇳🇱)
- and Thomas Weichhart 🇦🇹 showing some really 😎 data for role of immunometabolism in Sarcoid & the great potential for Rapamycin and Statins as potential therapies in Sarcoid! #FutureIsBright
- Really fab & thought provoking review which aligns with my current view of the pathogenesis of #IPF from Ashesh Chakraborty, Herbert Schiller & @staabweijnitz.bsky.social & team. 👏👏👏 mdpi-res.com/d_attachment...

- In principle I agree, BUT as editor & researcher it’s more complicated than people imagine/ want to acknowledge. Simplest & best short-term solution is 2 post all work on preprint server (all free 2 deposit & access) first. Beyond that it needs complete re-evaluation of scientific publishing.
