Indivisible Cortland County
Indivisible Cortland County is an independent, grassroots civic group formed by residents of Cortland County, NY, working to protect the integrity of the American democratic process and ensure the well-being of all in our nation. We are NY19 & NY22.
- Indivisible Cortland County is sponsoring a Nonviolent Direct Action (NVDA) training session on Saturday, May 31 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. You can register for this event by sending an email to indivisiblecortlandcounty@gmail.com. There is a limitation on participation, so register today if interested.
- Join us Friday, May 16, from 4:30-5:30 as we protest the “skinny budget” and its devastating impact on our local services. This budget calls for drastic reductions or elimination of vital programs (such as Head Start, Medicaid, SNAP, LIHEAP, and Weatherization) that serve people in Cortland County.
- So, low expectations. Did the American delegation bring their own interpreters or are they relying on the Chinese interpreters? Is that why Felon 47 says they are friendly?
- Clueless tool. Witkoff "broke with long-standing protocol by not employing his own interpreter during three high-level meetings with Russia’s Vladimir Putin, opting instead to rely on translators from the Kremlin, a U.S. official and two Western officials with knowledge of the talks told NBC News."
- Reposted by Indivisible Cortland CountyHaving now watched the footage and interview two of the members who were there, the amount of armed, masked federal agents surrounding three members of Congress and a mayor outside the ICE facility was totally unnecessary; the only possible reason for it was intentional escalation and intimidation.
- Reposted by Indivisible Cortland CountyI am outraged by the unjust arrest of Newark Mayor Ras Baraka earlier this afternoon outside of Delaney Hall in Newark. I am calling for his immediate release by federal law enforcement.

- Reposted by Indivisible Cortland County🚨What’s REALLY in the GOP’s voter suppression bill, the SAVE Act? Senator @alex-padilla4ca.bsky.social joins us and exposes every shady measure inside their plan and it’s worse than you think.
- The #TrumpCrimeFamily is operating with the same playbook it used 2017-2020: #Kleptocracy to the max. #Grifters will grift.
- So much for the #TrumpMuskRegime eliminating #FraudWasteAndAbuse!
- Reposted by Indivisible Cortland CountyGood morning Bluesky. Gotta love this. Linda McMahon, Secretary of Education, sent a letter to Harvard. They graded it.

- On Friday, May 16 Indivisible Cortland County will hold a "Hands Off Our Local Services" Rally from 4:30-5:30 in front of Courthouse Park in downtown Cortland. This event is in protest of the "skinny budget" the administration recently unveiled. See more in the comments.
- Emily Feiner asked this question and Lawler's response was weak sauce and then he decided to throw her out of the Town Hall rather than give a credible answer.
- Reposted by Indivisible Cortland CountyWell, I had an interesting Sunday night, how 'bout you?
- Let us just call it short man syndrome.
- You already know some of the information in this guide, but I promise you, some of it will be new to you. Skim it, read it, or save it for later.

- This is a Save the Date for us and probably everybody, every resisting organization, everywhere. Protesting on F47's birthday with a huge display of American flags and "No Kings" posters is high patriotism. It was Flag Day before F47 and will be long after he is gone. This is our America, not his.
- June 14 is Trump’s birthday and his military parade in DC — but the biggest story of that day will be the actions we take everywhere else. Join our nationwide day of defiance to show that organized people power is stronger than Trump’s authoritarian aspirations: www.nokings.org?SQF_SOURCE=i...
- Reposted by Indivisible Cortland CountyThe only strategy known to work against a fascist power grab is widespread and diverse pro-democracy organizing. We win by showing up for each other and with each other.
- Activism is alive and well in Cortland as evidenced by the 240+ people who showed up at our May Day Rally this afternoon. We’ll be doing it again, stay tuned! Nothing like good trouble!
- Come join us tomorrow on Church Street in front of Courthouse Park. Bring your voice, your signs and, most important, your indomitable spirit! See you there!
- Preliminary numbers were over 3.1 million people nationwide for the 50501 initiated protests on April 19th. You, we, us are not alone. We are the many.
- @altnps.bsky.social is reporting more than 3 million so far and numbers are still coming in!! 🤝

- Reposted by Indivisible Cortland CountyThe turnout in small towns across the country has been incredible drawing crowds of thousands. We’re already seeing over one million in attendance nationwide, and events are still underway. Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Ohio all had especially surprising showings.
- Below are titles of articles written by highly conservative New York Times contributing writer David Brooks over the last four years. When these people start getting it, it must be really, really bad. But it’s a ray of hope for us.
- Truckers are about to get badly hurt by Trump. “Once again, American workers are being sacrificed at the altar of political theater,” state Rep. Josh Siegel said in response. “The tariffs — erratic, broad and poorly targeted — are crushing core U.S. industries like trucking and manufacturing.”
- SAVE THE DATE! Details to follow but be there or pineapple square!
- Maybe you voted for the Trump Administration, but now you think maybe you’ve made a mistake. All of the turmoil you are seeing wasn’t what you thought would happen? This wasn’t what you were promised? You didn’t vote for an authoritarian, but now you see the reality of where our nation is heading?
- Even closer, in Ithaca!
- A good recap of Trump's meeting with the El Salvador president, and also a ray of hope: Harvard President Alan Garber's "stunning letter" to the Harvard Community digging in his heals.
- Jennifer Vasquez Sura, wife of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who was illegally deported to El Salvador, asks for the US government to return him outside a court hearing on the matter.

- The detention of three children and their mother shocked the town of Sackets Harbor, NY. It also highlighted how much the region’s key industries depend on immigrant workers. “It’s a choice for the US Government at this point, do you want to import your food or do you want to import your labor?”

- This will be the next tariff Trump will cave on. He doesn't want people to tell their children that Trump is the Grinch stealing Christmas this year.
- Felon 47 caving already.
- Update: While Indivisible Cortland County is working on a strategic plan for future peaceful protests, we will not be joining the cities hosting events next Saturday, April 19th. To find a peaceful protest near you, see the 50501 website. www.fiftyfifty.one

- Reposted by Indivisible Cortland CountyHey, @schumer.senate.gov :: you better not be playing cute with your language about stopping the SAVE Act. I hope you intend to VOTE NO ON CLOTURE, as opposed to what you did with the CR when you told us you'd vote no on the bill, but still voted YES on cloture. We are in no mood for games.
- Is Felon 47 malicious or incompetent? Both. But he leans heavily into incompetent now and it's going to cost the US dearly. www.youtube.com/watch?v=hv8S...
