- The Last Jedi, Rogue One, and Andor are the only Disney Star Wars projects I have enjoyed. Andor ending kinda feels like a jumping off point from the whole franchise tbh
- "weird" is the smartest branding move Democrats have used that doesn't involve promising anybody anything. And they are still largely allergic to it, even though it should be perfectly in line with the type of marketing they like! Because they don't want to be mean to their fascist friends!
- I'm so happy Javy Baez is having a moment after all these struggle years. One of the most entertaining players in the game, until pitchers figured out the whole thing where he can't see pitches down and out

- CUBS FANS: Justin Turner needs to be dealt with. He needs to be gone. He needs to be sent to the shadow realm. JUSTIN TURNER: Some of you fans are alright. Come to the game tomorrow.

- Maybe the greatest and most absurd example yet of how Americans journalists have inverted the concept of the fourth estate. They see their role as disciplining the public, rather than being a check on power. And it leads to absurd moments like this
- I want to follow on this idea in a separate thread. It's wild how any pre-9/11 American media portrays cops. Usually as schlubby doofuses, sometimes as a cool maverick surrounded by schlubby doofuses
- The immediate post-9/11 era felt a lot like this moment, with the sudden rapid expansion of an unconstitutional security state and the white supremacist moral panics and so on, yet what you see from liberals is a lot of "wow, this makes the Bush years seem normal!"
