- OK i read SB 79 amendments in full. It separates counties with 15+ rail stops. 15+ stops allows homes up to 6/7 stories within 0.5/ 0.25 miles of a station If under 15 rail stops, its only 4/5 stories 0.5/0.25 mi from a station. Cities can introduce their own plans if its equal in capacity to SB 79

View full threadSome might think the local govt rezoning opt out could be a poison pill (such as mandating 100% affordable etc) but actually i think that's fine because under SB 423 if you dont build any homes all that gets thrown out.
- So the Bay Areas urban core: SF, SMC, SCC, Alameda get the top tier rezoning. Marin, Sonoma and maybe Contra Costa (which has 14 or 15 stops depending on interpretation) get lower tier. I guess 4 story housing is more palpable to Marin at SMART stations bsky.app/profile/down...

- Nothing, ive eaten everything thats come my way including raw sushi. Wasnt a fan but swallowed it
- I have waited 20 years to try okonomiyaki, and i finally did. I was very worried id be let down, i couldnt imagine the flavors. Unbelievably it was as good as i imagined.
- Damn, what?
- I genuinely feel bad for most Jews, not only because of growing antisemitism but I would be horrified if my race was being used as a wedge issue to shut down free speech, arrest citizens and legal residents randomly, dismantle America's soft power and usher in McCarthyism 2.0 that looks bad NOW
- Has not endorsed a single housing bill yet demands communities do the impossible and eliminate the fruits of his inaction.
- Gov. Gavin Newsom has a new strategy to eliminate the large, long-standing homeless encampments that have been a thorn in his side throughout his administration: Push cities to make them illegal. buff.ly/kqKViFF 📸 Mike Blake, Reuters
- Take whoever is in charge if BART wayfinding and have them ride the JR all day. Unbelievable how a Japanese company does better wayfinding in English than an American transit agency
- I'm nostalgic for late 2000s tech where it was getting really corporate but it was optimistic, had a cutesy layer of naivete, and was not blatantly evil and rife with open nazis.
- A lot of it was social naivete but I miss looking up to tech leaders as icons and impressive people. I miss when us kids in school would proudly read bios on Wozniak, Jobs and Gates and their cool inventions, rather than read what evil shit Elon, Zuckerburg and Andressen are doing in the news.
- Like there was a time when tech was synonymous with bright future rather than dystopian authoritarianism. the damage the "tech right" have done to the profession will last generations.
