this is obviously very early but I think at least one “solid R” seat on this map will flip
The 2026 senate map sucks. Don’t realize it was this bad
Class 2 Republicans haven’t faced a Republican WH midterm since 2002, and that was a rare incumbent-party positive environment for a midterm.
Really shows how much it hurts to have lost Casey, Brown, and Tester last year, though - extremely tough to get to 51.
Brown and Tester should get a rematch next year in a much more favorable electoral environment. Montana and Ohio are probably closer to leans or toss-ups assuming they go again. Manchin also hasn't ruled out a comeback
Fuck Manchin. He just a con in blue paint.
So you prefer Shelly Moore Capito, who's a con in red paint?
Yes. She caucuses with the Republicans so we don't have to fuck over poor people for her vote on critical issues.
Instead you just lose every vote in the first place
We lost them WITH him. What is the difference?
"50% good things and 50 disappointment is worse than 100% bad things" is how this reads to me.
Except it isn't 50% good.
Look. I get it and was fully on board until this cycle. We have done politics 'the smart way' for the last 40 years and look at where we are. Why do you think doing the same thing will result in different outcomes this time?
Why do you think it can't be done much worse rather than this being the best of deeply imperfect options?
Because of where it has led us. We are living in a fascist state right now because we held our noses and selected the least worse option instead of demanding a better one. Those people in Washington and Charleston are accountable to us, not the other way around.
May 6, 2025 13:03You're one of those people who thinks you could beat Usain Bolt in a footrace if you just want it badly enough.
Nope. I think Democrats should actually utilize their power when they are in office and Republicans like Manchin make that impossible.
And yet you're willing to put Democrats in the minority to make sure that "Republicans" like Manchin don't put them in the majority, where they can meaningfully utilize their power.
They don't utilize their power when they are in the majority, sugar.
And the response to that is obviously to put them in the minority where they can't do it even if they want to?
For the last time: Doing things your way has led us to fascism with an opposition party that is not up to the task of actually opposing. Doing the same thing again seems really stupid to me, but you do you.
You're proposing to do things even worse!
You know this how? We have never tried it.
How do you know it's not?
Lol. I don't. I know the way we have been doing it doesn't work. I want to change that. You seem to enjoy failure and misery.
