The Dems saw that David Hogg was anti-gerontocracy and said his PAC might primary currently seated Dems (something a majority of Dem voters agree on rn) and they said "Fuck off forever" almost immediately, and got rid of him in a way almost custom designed to lose voters and empower the right lol.

No its both. If you are a certain age you probably don't care about what happens after your term ends and so are more willing to do more evil policies that harm humanity cus you just you know that in 10 years you will not be around. Often also means worse mental capability.
