View full threadDem's make a huge mistake with cultural issues. I'm sympathetic to all. But, one has to win first. And a lot of people resent having those issues shoved at them. They'll come around. But we have to give them time. Just my observation since Reagan. And that's why we lost Roe v Wade in the end.
- I respect the hell out of RBG... but we ultimately lost Roe v. Wade because when she was terminal, and asked multiple times to step down, she didn't. Obama would have had the opportunity to nominate someone.

His past comments (trumps tiny hands), his body language during the meeting with Zelenskyy..but who knows lol
- His nonverbal and entire presence at that meeting was off. Hands in his lap, tapping fingers, head down, eyes darting. It's definitely a rabbit hole... but at this point 🤷🏻♀️ I'm so gaslit my hair is singed.

- I think this is the first round of sacrificial lambs. A traitor never has issues betraying anyone. There is no sense of loyalty in the GOP right now. Reps want out, they don't want to go down with the ship. Rubio very well may have sent an SOS.
- I'm beginning to think Waltz did not complete his Trump course on how to lie with convictions classes. So Trump brought him to the press room for a refresher course. But what Waltz does not know he's being sized up for the kiss of death coffin. If he does not get his lies to be more effective.

- The he debt that college graduates are being saddled with is criminal. This doesn’t happen in other developed countries, only the U.S.
- Higher learning institutions need to be held accountable as well. Loan rates, both subsidized and unsubsidized need reasonable or no interest rates.
- Most schools have banned phones. You can't ignore technology in education. It needs to be utilized in the classroom. Why not have the kids text the teacher an answer, have them make a TikTok video on a topic? Young adults need to learn to use their phones without it hindering them. Tech is a tool.

- We are currently paying for our daughter to finish her masters. It’s her only chance to become financially solvent. She loves teaching but the profession is underpaid, horribly unappreciated and mentally taxing. She has been doing it for 9 years and I give her credit for sticking it out this long.
- I loved teaching. I miss the kids, not the other bs. After my husband passed, going down to one income, it just wasn't feasible. Yet, people wonder why there is a teacher shortage. A shortage that won't change until pay and respect are established.
- This guy is intentionally skewing words. A “source” is far different than an FBI agent, which was the accusation. The FBI had sources in Al Qaeda, Russia, the KKK, everywhere. A source is just that, a person who tells the FBI things.

- Truly unclear whether this is a leap forward. It’s a good thing to have your guard (a little bit) up and be confronted with authentic human disagreement. I worry that this place is like a space station for the mind.
- Having your guard up is a good thing. Your keyboard warriors have "no" guards. I like the experiment. It's Social Media helping to restore a sense of structure in discourse and disagreement. I like the humanity blended in.

- Tell that to the "Silent Generation". If you're going to use a reference, do so accurately.
- Let's clarify something. There's a difference between a true single parent or a solo parent. The fore mentioned are doing it ALL alone. Discipline, finances, decisions. If you have a coparent at any stage of the game, or you have your child 50% of the time; you are only a single parent part time.
- As I sit here in a car dealership as the only woman in the waiting room packed with men working on my laptop while they all stare at their phones, I am reminded that single mothers are expected to do all the family and money-earning work of married couples, all by themselves.

View full threadIt's much easier when you're a man because you are constantly offered help and sympathy. Our culture prefers to blame and shame single moms. It's not the same.
- It's not the same but it doesn't mean it's not challenging for any single or solo parent. Expectations & standards are different for men & women. I personally dislike it when divorced parents who have their children 50% of the time claim to be single parents. They have a coparent. Solo parents don't

View full threadTrue, however I would also argue we would either need to offer funding for post secondary education to make this possible. For many, post secondary is out of the picture financially. Life skills should indeed be first to be added — my high school cut cooking/sewing class through polling students.
- I agree that higher education funding needs radical changes to make it more accessible. This includes working with high school students.
