- yes they are. I'm pretty sure I disagree with Stancil's point here but there's no universe where Star Trek hasn't had nuanced politics since the OG era. Balance of Terror, Errand of Mercy, A Private Little War... Despite being pro big gov Star Trek was always mindful of how that could fail.
