Mr. Struggle
all we are is dust in the wind, dude
- Marjorie, I know the truth confuses you and facts ain’t your strong suit—so let me break it down real slow: George Floyd didn’t die from drugs. He died because Derek Chauvin knelt on his neck for 9 minutes. That’s called murder.
- if Chauvin is pardoned, the next Dem president should pardon Assata Shakur lol just do it
- It's not a new argument, of course, but Chesterton dismissed it effectively in 1908. "You will hear everlastingly... this argument that the rich man cannot be bribed. The fact is, of course, that the rich man is bribed; he has been bribed already. That is why he is a rich man."
- i mean i've never heard anyone say "no please don't give me more free money i have enough already"

- he's still preferable to a Republican. the left really needs to come to terms with that, especially since Dems need to be more competitive in more states in the senate
- and come on, Gallego isn't anywhere near as annoying as Sinema was
- the thing is, people really do believe that trump can’t be corrupt because he’s rich, and it is hard to persuade people that trump has a different relationship to money than the rest of us (it is a literal fetish object for him)
- i hate the reasoning that people are going to turn down free money, even if they're wealthy. i mean for people like this it's a bottomless pit.
- I genuinely don't think good counter-messaging on trans rights is all that difficult. There are Democrats who aren't doing it not because coming up with it is hard but because they agree with the Republicans and want to disguise their disdain for trans people as a matter of political strategy.
- can you name these Democrats?
- he thinks American voters are really dumb
- i mean he's probably not wrong

- not having Trump on the ballot seems like it could help
- Little known fact that Grover Cleveland used to ride around the world in the Statue of Liberty and have sensitive national security discussions inside it, before taking possession of it himself after he left office.
- cool so the plane Trump got belongs to all of us?
- i dunno i kind of feel like people might be overstating Sinners' success just a bit? it's made a ton of money relative to it's budget but in actuality how many people have actually seen it?

- not exactly. but cultural impact isn't exactly unimportant, especially if you want to repeat a films success. this doesn't apply to just Sinners either. people just don't go to movie theaters like they used to
