There's a thread on Twitter that purports to show that AI can save money by producing visual effects better than Hollywood. And it's just identical shots that wouldn't exist without straight plagiarism of the source material. It might be the dumbest thread I've ever seen.

I mean, how well could a human artist draw "a supernova exploding in outer space" if they had never seen a picture of... space, for instance? AI image generation is 100% capable of creating images that have never existed by extrapolating from images that have, just like people.

That thread is specifically side by sides so show how close the AI video can get to the VFX done with other means using the same image (which IMO, is not as good as Min thinks). That doesn't mean that's *all* it can do. You could generate that Mystique transform using any scene of her, to any person

My point is more like... Stable Diffusion has been shown tons of pictures of owls, and tons of pictures of eyes, but probably no pictures of *an owl covered with eyes* and yet it can produce this.

I would prefer it did not do that. If you don't have any self-respect at least respect other people's desire not to have to see this shit
