- Q4: If you could give one piece of advice or offer one tool to someone newly diagnosed, what would it be? #AYACSM
- That's a hard one. Not to be cheesy - but #AYACSM is so much more than just me. People started using it over on Instagram and other places - by giving them that one hashtag they could find resources and people's stories. They could connect with others.
- Q3: How did you first find your way into the AYA community – or how did the community find you? #AYACSM
- A3: I searched on FB for something local and didn’t find that support until the middle of radiation. We used to meet for dinner 1x a month. I miss those days. #AYACSM
- Was it an AYA-specific group? #AYACSM
- In 2008, I read the NCI + Livestrong Young Adult Cancer Alliance report in the library of my university and it was at that moment that I became an #AYACSM advocate. Full steam ahead!

- It really is. Especially since so many don't have health insurance. The only orgs I can think of are those that help with college scholarships - which doesn't really help if you're an older AYA #AYACSM
- True. I think other services can help with financial toxicity as well - like the cleaning service you mentioned. People who cook/provide meals. Parking initiatives. These all help ease some burden. #AYACSM

- For starters - help with financial challenges. We know that financial toxicity is a real issue that #AYACancer patients may face. It is expensive to live with a serious illness and can amplify other financial issues. #AYACSM
- A2: More resources to help with the socioeconomic challenges people face that become amplified when there is a cancer diagnosis. #AYACSM
- In my community, it remains a huge gap that needs improving #AYACSM
- It really is. And I know that our community has the power to change that. #AYACSM

- Exactly. And there is an org that will even clean your house for free while you're in active treatment. Most people tell me this would have been a HUGE help, but they had no idea it existed. #AYACSM

- A1. When Billy, Maureen and I started #AYACSM - one of the intentions of doing so was to be able to keep up with the resources available
- A1. For me, it was hearing about how AYAs didn't know about the resources available to them when they were needed. I founded Concierge for Hope to fix this problem in our community. #AYACSM
- It is a major challenge to not know what is out there. #AYACSM
