So my question is always what **are** they going to do?
If they are not going to rejoin the EU anytime soon, then will they sign new mobility agreements in the interim?
If the EU refuses, then what?
I think it is extremely obvious that they won't do anything - and frankly given how divisive this whole thing is and the other challenges in the world (including reform) that is probably the right decision. What we need to do now is prioritise improving this country.
If anyone wants FOM back they need to get it back themselves. Emigrating to Ireland and then surrendering your UK citizenship being the obvious and quickest route.
How does that work? Does that automatically give you Irish citizenship?
If you do 5 years you get Irish citizenship- if you then surrender British then they cannot take it off you whatever you do.
Oh, I see. So it still takes five years.
Wouldn’t it be better just to get a Visa for the country you actually wanted to go to. I don’t see the point of going to Ireland for 5 years.
Most EU countries have terrible citizenship policies and treat you badly if you're not a citizen.
