- Let’s have a moment of quiet for the various people who had their heads sawed off and paraded through the streets of Paris for offenses ranging from “being a guard” to “being the dad of a guard”
- Honestly, it’s weird how few Star Wars games there are set in the Sequel Trilogy era. Are there any major AAA releases set exclusively then?

View full threadThe problem is that it's clearly able to fire across the entire galaxy and destroy multiple planets when doing so - which makes it far more revolutionary than the death star. The Death Star is essentially a bomber carrying a fission nuke, while Starkiller (an idiotic name) is an ICBM with H-bombs.
- I did not recall this feature because I’m a fake fan who only watched it once
- wait are you serious
- I regret, strike that, I am unreasonably happy to inform you…
- you have to reach into EU to see where FA comes from, which is a huge narrative fail
- You have to reach into Fortnite to see where Palpatine comes from which seems worse.
- I’m actually kind of willing to buy Starkiller Base as a political tool more than a weapon. Given its non-mobile, its strategic uses are limited, whereas the Death Star could be used as a looming threat to quash dissent, whereas Starkiller is a first strike weapon built for a specific purpose.
- If that’s the case, I can see it being less of a lift to build than the Death Star.
- This btw is what was so silly about HUK demanding the BBC factcheck that statement. Like, how?
- How do you prove that dropping out of seminary was not where Joseph Stalin's life went wrong? I mean I don't believe it was, but how do you prove that?
- I mean, do we really think Stalin becomes Stalin if he’s a mid-level cleric in Tbilisi?
- I guess? I’ll be honest I couldn’t finish Rise of Skywalker but isn’t it revealed that palpatine has massive shipyards just churning out star destroyers somewhere? Maybe that’s where the FO gets their logistical capacity?
- Thinking about it now, it would make more sense for the FO to be a faction within the New Republic resulting from a failure at de-Sithification. The Resistance, then, are outlaws working outside the legitimacy of the Republic because they can’t accept that so many former Imperials are at the table.
- IIRC, they did a whole thing about his mom being an ace pilot and him being inspired to follow in her footsteps and then IX was like “Just kidding bro, he was a crack dealer,” and never mentioned her when talking about his origins.
- "Poe Dameron is privileged and has gigantic mommy issues" honestly feels extremely correct.
