IIRC, they did a whole thing about his mom being an ace pilot and him being inspired to follow in her footsteps and then IX was like “Just kidding bro, he was a crack dealer,” and never mentioned her when talking about his origins.
Also the only things we know about how we got here are "some hints in a couple of TV shows" and "a bunch of stuff that has been decanonized".
