- Plato's Gorgias dialogue (380BC!) is interesting when it comes to LLMs. In it, Gorgias argues that someone whose only skill is being good at talking is more convincing to a lay audience than actual experts. Which opens up two avenues for "improving" LLMs: expert knowledge on everything or rhetoric.

- Reposted by DominikusLast week I had the pleasure of finally releasing the #SveltePlot alpha version during my talk at the #SvelteSummit in Barcelona. It's a new visualization framework for @svelte.dev that I've been working on for the past 18 months, so it's about time for a 🧵

- Future of (human) art will be bizarre, idiosyncratic, weird. Things that have never been done and are thus in no dataset. Everything AI is by necessity average and it's no wonder that the latest insult is things being 'mid'.
- Having spent weeks now with ChatGPT's Deep Research, Perplexity, etc. I'm honestly not sure if they're actually saving time in research tasks or if they're providing the illusion.

- The future of #datavis
- HN comments for @shirleywu.studio's last blog provide a fascinating glimpse into the minds of definitely non-datavis people: Datavis is done, simplicity should be everything, web as a platform was a bad idea... Is this what potential clients think? Is this where the crisis in datavis comes from?

- What an absolutely delightful call-to-arms for multimodal/future interface design! Plus a shining example for how to use genAI illustrations 👏

- Great summary by @moritzstefaner.bsky.social on the 2025 polycrisis of dataviz! An additional hypothesis, cause-wise: Bespoke dataviz is fundamentally incompatible with social media (takes long to read, works best when interactive, slow development cycles), yet main metric for success is virality.
- Every AI is as creative as the person using it.
- So many amazing people …. and me 😅
