- Trump has temporarily repealed most of the tariffs on China. These tariffs were put there by (checks notes...) Trump, and were going to make America wealthy again. They've been in place for (checks notes...) 31 days! A resounding success. Are we feeling the wealth yet? Hmm? Hmm? Beuler!
- www.mesoscalenews.com/p/whistleblo... @georebekah.bsky.social real story. Everybody should read this. It's horrific!

- They would surely have to KNOW for sure that the person they are throwing out is not, in fact, a citizen. This can't be done without that pesky due process. By definition. It's kind of what it's for. These people are just hard of thinking.

- Strange but true....I left the US 10 years ago. I make less money in Europe than I did in the US, but I have more spare money. Why? Because of the cost of health insurance.

- It's worse than that. You don't need all 271. You don't even need a plurality. You need about 6 representatives and 13 senators.

- Not true! His IQ isn't that high.
- As a party, we are prisoners being held hostage by people who simply refuse to accept that their time has passed and won’t accept that others more capable right now. Stay in the Senate, but step down from leadership. It’s time for a new approach, a new face, & a new voice.
- And the best contrast is to be vastly more unpopular than the least popular president in history? You couldn't make this up!

- Pointing out that a strategy that is doomed to fail, as being a strategy that is doomed to fail is not the thing that will boost Farage and his conmen. Rather, the issue is that the strategy is doomed to fail. The biggest gift Labour can give Farage is to keep Starmer.
- Stay in the Senate? Sorry, what? Why? He's taking up space that someone useful could use. He's in the fucking way!
- Interesting watching @bestese34.bsky.social set a new low in spineless interviewing. Here's a clue, Terry old son - you DON'T agree to disagree about FACTS. You don't move along because YOU are uncomfortable. It's your job to demand answers from politicians, even when things get awkward.

- A great way you could fight back is to resign immediately and leave your space for someone with a spine and a strategy. Stop clinging to power for the sake of it. You're just getting in the damn way.
- Schumer on the Democratic response to Trump's shakedown of Harvard: "We sent him a very strong letter just the other day asking eight very strong questions."
- If only the German opposition in the 1930's had thought of a strongly worded letter to Hitler with some questions. That would have changed everything. Schumer is brilliant!
- He has the lowest IQ too.

- But age is a thing. We need a younger generation who understands that the way things worked before January 1992 don't function like that anymore. No more of this business as usual shit! The GOP loves us for that. We're so easy to manipulate.

- I think he's identified the GOP problem. If they abolish post natal care, vaccinations against infectious disease, and pediatric health care, then infant mortality will drop like a rock and there will be a need to go back to the ways of the 1800's. I'm told science is a bad thing for these people

- Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R): "We are all afraid…I am oftentimes very anxious myself about using my voice because retaliation is real."
- Well, if she's too scared to do her job, she should resign and let someone with a spine do it in her place.
- Everyone’s watching Reform UK, but the real story is Ed Davey, the most popular party leader in England. The Liberal Democrats are on the rise, it's just that the pollsters forgot to mention it | Stephen McNair @eastangliabylines.co.uk @stephenmcnair.bsky.social
- We're not talking about the LD's because Reform sells rags and advertising for the broken media. We need social media and other independent outlets to do what Bylines is doing. More, please!
- Quick point. Congress can use the spending fight in September (remember Chuck Schumer surrendered till then) to prevent a single dollar from being used to house prisoners in El Salvador.
- Schumer will fold.
- www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXRh... This from @richardjmurphy.bsky.social I'm not convinced that the US shooting itself in the foot will be as bad for the rest of the world as some make out—the world has moved on a lot since the Great Depression—but for the US, it will go very, very wrong!
- Karoline Leavitt, "China needs to make a deal with us, we don't have to make a deal with them" "China wants what we have, what every country wants, what we have, the American consumer" "Or to put it another way they need our money"

- I don't think so. Mark Carney met with EU leaders a few weeks ago to coordinate plans to dump US bonds in the event of tariffs. Once Trump got wind of that he started to refer to Carney as Prime Minister instead of Governor.
- He wants to build prisons in El Salvador for American citizens he doesn't like. Enough's enough. He needs to be stopped.
- What is it we need? 8 or 9 US senators to grow a spine? It's pretty unlikely, but one never knows.
- If you're sending your kid to university this year, might I humbly suggest anywhere but Columbia NYC?
- And now the Chinese government is busy dumping US bonds. I don't think the US government gamed this one out....or gave it any thought whatsoever.

View full threadThe fact that those who want voter ID look at the demographics of who they want to vote for them and who they do not, then look at what ID's the "right" people have that the "wrong" people do not have and use that to decide what ID is acceptable is the real story.
- We need to learn how to communicate facts to people in a simple way to people who spend 4% of their time thinking about politics.
