For years there's been a type of guy on social media who would suddenly get agitated if you asked them to elaborate on an assertion they just made and that's who the president is now
Reform is a Limited Company
Farage owns 53%
It was formed in 2019 to push for a “no-deal Brexit”
It wants to reintroduce the Liz Truss budget
It wants to privatise the NHS

Everything appears to be white genocide except the nearly irreversible abolition of all of the stuff keeping white people alive.
Like a Black woman having a visible job is white genocide but dismantling the FDA, removing fluoride, rampant deregulation & resurrecting old world diseases is freedom.

Amg those who think racial inequalities are justfiable bc they think biological racism is true, many are biological determinists abt class too: that lower income people are genetically inferior
Their commitment to retrenching racial injustice won't benefit the working class, white or otherwise

Not maybe, not only if white, not if the president likes them. “Are.”
As in the immunity case, SCOTUS should’ve gone “lol, no” to blatantly unconstitutional claims.
Don’t be fooled about who Trump is working with.

Incredibly weird reporting in the sequencing. The Sun eventually right at the end says the driver has now been charged with theft, after driving off with the luggage, after his attempt to get an extra £600 "because I realised he was a VIP" failed (having been pre-paid the agreed fare of £700)
This is an incredible story when you read it and discover what actually happened was:
- Lammy paid in advance
- The driver tried to extort him for a massive tip
- Drove off with his luggage
- At somepoint clocked he was a VIP
- Is now selling the story to The Sun.
It does not seem from this account that the driver's request for another 700 Euros - based on their luggage - was legitimate. (His later claim his life was at risk seems weaker still)

Whoever this para was seeking to evoke, Keir Starmer has yet to give one substantive speech directly on themes of social cohesion, or race/multiculturalism/integration having been Labour leader since April 2020 (5 years ago), Prime Minister in July 2024 (10 months ago)

Who PM was really trying to echo with 'island of strangers' speech
The politician the prime minister was trying to channel was about as far away from Enoch Powell as you could get in the 1960s.
Genuinely cannot get enough of how much Downing Street loves briefing 'no, you see, actually, we were channelling the 1964 to 1970 government'. A disastrous government that lost - badly.

The fact that the Court took the case is what's so worrying. Trump floats nutty stuff, a court slaps him down, and SCOTUS says "Gosh, important point here, we better look into it," as if there is a serious, non-crazy answer.
To the 'public services from 1997, economy from 2010, dependency ratio from 2024' inheritance, Labour also has a problem that since 2015, every party to win a majority, including Labour in 2024 has basically done so on a 'I WILL make your water flow uphill' ticket:
The Constitution says insurrectionists can’t hold office except that “Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.”
The Supreme Court inverted that, to an insurrectionist can hold office unless Congress votes to bar them personally.
So who knows what they’ll make up.
If I had to bet, I’d guess Alito and likely Thomas are votes for “the president can ignore the Constitution if I like the outcome,” but the majority will uphold the plain text of the law except a few lawyerly caveats.
But with a Supreme Court majority that doesn’t believe in rule of law, who knows.
I think this appointment raises serious questions. Is it sensible to appoint an officer as head of the Royal Navy when that officer was just days ago alleged to have been involved in the failure to report egregious war crimes? What message does that send?

So is there a hidden plan to get rid of the things the UK was perceived to be good at or respected for in other countries: universities, international development etc…what’s next?Reintroduce museum entry fees? A 6% levy on film and music? Tragic.

Starmer's language was deplorable.
It was grotesquely offensive, accusing people who have brought their gifts to this country of doing "incalculable" "damage"; & politically foolish, in endorsing Farage's claims of an establishment conspiracy.
But bad analogies with Powell miss the key problem. 🧵

If there's one lesson Labour *should* learn from Farage's career, it's that arguing for unfashionable positions can bring about seismic political change.
Voters find Farage "authentic" because they don't think he has focus-grouped what he says or is trying to sound like someone completely different
Labour desperately needs to rediscover its courage in contesting, rather than aping, the claims of populism.
Starmer's speech wasn't Powellite. But it was pusillanimous.
And in looking to the monsters of the past, we risk missing its headlong retreat before the challenges of the present. [ENDS]
Starmer doesn't seem to realise that, if you consistently accept the way your opponents frame a question, you'll find it hard to reject the answers that they give.
If you keep telling voters that Farage is right in his analysis, it will be hard to persuade them that he's wrong in his prescriptions.
I could wear Claudia Schiffer's clothes, but that wouldn't make me a supermodel.
Likewise, Starmer can borrow Farage's language, but unless he challenges Farage's arguments, voters will rightly conclude that they look better on the man who first brought them onto the political catwalk.
