- @dalupton.bsky.social Hello! I'm putting together a brief provocation on zineing in medical humanities & wondered if you might share your 2022 chapter with me? For some reason our library doesn't have ebook access - I've requested it but it's likely to take some weeks. Thanks so much if you can
- Yes of course - email me d.lupton@unsw.edu.au

- Those trying to understand the tariffs as economic policy are dangerously naive. No, the tariffs are a tool to collapse our democracy. A means to compel loyalty from every business that will need to petition Trump for relief. 1/ A 🧵 to explain his plan and how we fight back.
-
View full thread5/ Trump knows that he can weaken (and maybe destroy) democracy by using spending and taxation in the same way. He is using access to government funds to bully universities, law firms and state and local governments into loyalty pledges.
- 6/ Healthy democracies rely on an independent legal profession to maintain the rule of law, independent universities to guard objective truth and provide forums for dissent to authority, and independent state/local government to counterbalance a powerful federal government.
- I think this nails it.

- Colleagues are cancelling their US work trips. I worry that international colleagues in the US are at risk if they collaborate with us on certain topics. I've written a new post about the increasing danger of being a foreign scientist in the US. christinapagel.substack.com/p/trumps-att...

- 🚨 🧠 We have a new preprint out where we studied which brain networks are engaged during mental imagery and self-generated thought. We used a precision fMRI approach along with multidimensional experience sampling (mDES) to get trialwise self-reports from each participant about what they imagined.

- NIH recently found 1 in 22 ppl who’d had Covid developed ME/CFS. The “mild” form of that disease, as @julialmv.bsky.social’s graph shows, means losing capacity to do 50% of your daily activities. What would you give up? Friends? Time w/your kids? Could you cut work hours in half w/o losing yr job?
