- Congratulations @ianakim.bsky.social et al. Very interesting data and lots to unpack!
- I’m very excited to share our work on the early evolution of animal regulatory genome architecture - the main project of my postdoc, carried out across two wonderful and inspirational labs of @arnausebe.bsky.social and @mamartirenom.bsky.social. www.nature.com/articles/s41...
- Very excited to be a part of this community, specially as it continues to grow!
- Meet the 2025 @dev-journal.bsky.social Pathway to Independence (PI) fellows Eight developmental and stem cell biologists transitioning from postdoc to principal investigator journals.biologists.com/dev/pages/pi...
- Some very exciting announcements to attract the best researchers to Europe. Anyone who things they might find a home in the Centre for Chromosome Biology in Galway, please reach out! Chromosome.ie
- Europe’s choice is clear. To put science at the heart of its economy. To become the home of scientific freedom and collaboration. And to welcome talent from all over the world. I’m glad to present the first elements of our Choose Europe Initiative. → europa.eu/!TTbWbJ
- Awesome interview with my good friend and excellent scientist @eudaldpascual.bsky.social
- Any chromosome biologists looking to relocate should get in contact! chromosome.ie
- Been waiting for this announcement for a while! A very exciting meeting which (if the last one is anything to go by) has a very open and supportive atmosphere!
- Registrations are now open for the next @embo.org EvoChromo meeting in December. meetings.embo.org/event/24-evo... Join us in beautiful Costa Brava to discuss chromatin evolution! Co-organized with @tobiaswarnecke.bsky.social @sandraduharcourt.bsky.social @levine-lab.bsky.social and Nick Irwin
- My group is hiring a new Postdoc to work on gene regulation and chromatin in Nematostella. Please RT! For more information see here: gahanlab.com tinyurl.com/34xke35d
- Very inspiring day listening to @marialep.bsky.social and Luke O'Neill talk about the importance of fundamental curiosity-driven research and some Irish @erc.europa.eu awardees highlight their research. Thanks @researchireland.bsky.social for hosting the event!
- This article reads very true in the Irish system and is something I didnt realise until I became an academic!
- Great to see @farronalab.bsky.social now officially recognized as a CCB group on our website! Also cool to see that there are now 4 model organism groups in CCB! chromosome.ie/groups/farro...
- More great news! The CCB is on fire at the moment. If you are looking for opportunities to join a successful (and friendly) group of Chromosome biologists, either as a PhD/Postdoc or group leader, then get in touch: chromosome.ie
- "ERC can offer an additional €1 million to cover eligible “start-up” costs for researchers moving to the EU from a third country"....and Galway offers a permanent position with an ERC grant, so if any "chromosme" biologists want to join us then get in touch! (chromosome.ie)
- Europe as “a haven” for US researcher - The EU’s research funding bodies are thinking of ways to welcome US scientists and European ex-patriots who might be looking for a more sympathetic place to work now that Donald Trump is in the White House #AcademicSky 🧪 sciencebusiness.net/internationa...
- Happy to formally announce I will be working on Nematostella again on the back of a recent @researchireland.bsky.social award! Also mazing to see 4/5 Frontiers for the Future awards to @uniofgalway.bsky.social announced today coming to PIs in the CCB (chromosome.ie)!
- The Morrison lab in the CCB (chromosome.ie/groups/morri...) are looking for a new Postdoc to work on centrosomes and how they respond to DNA damage! See below for more details. To apply: www.universityofgalway.ie/about-us/jobs/
- Very cool story!
- Were very happy to have you @patriciasuarez.bsky.social
- I can personally vouch for how useful this programme is for going on the job market and setting up your lab!
- Hydra is not an "ancestral metazoan"...the ancestral metazoans havent existed for 100's of millions of years! 🙈🙈
- Very exciting meeting next year bringing together multiple areas of expertise to discuss early animal evolution! cjm.sb-roscoff.fr/en/conferenc...
- Go Apply!
- I asked on X a while ago but got no traction! We would love to use EM to look at MNase digested chromatin from different cell types which are refractory to digestion to visualise the difficult to digest particles! Who does such things or knows someone who does? #chromatin #EM
- Very excited that this program is continuing! I was lucky enough to be one of the inaugural fellows and it was been a great help to my career and in setting up my lab! I would encourage anyone to apply!
- Very exciting webinar next week!
- This paper is genuinely amazing! Not only is the science very cool, it is also a masterclass in scientific writing, as are most @robklose.bsky.social lab papers!
- Very excited that our paper describing a critical role for the PNUTS-PP1 phosphatase complex in transcription pause release is up online! This was a massive team effort with @edimitrova.bsky.social and the rest of the @robklose.bsky.social lab www.cell.com/molecular-ce... A short thread: (1/8)
- We are hiring a lecturer in Biochemistry. This is an attractive position which is permanent and I would love to see another chromosome or evolutionary biologist join us! Drop me a message if you have questions :) t.co/4XhvY7k0Qy
- Reposting for all my new followers: Happy to share that we will be branching out (returning) to working on Nematostella soon. Details will follow but for now, if anyone is interested in starting a Postdoc or PhD in 2025 on chromatin/gene regulation/neurogenesis in Nematostella drop me a message :)
- Follow the All Ireland Chromatin Consortium to keep up to date with your Irish #chromatin and #epigenetics colleagues! bsky.app/profile/aicc...
- Great seminar this Friday! #chromatin #epigenetics
- Wow, what a cool meeting and line up 🤩
- Happy to share that the Gahan lab will be branching out (or more like returning) to working on Nematostella in the near future. Details will follow but for now if anyone is interested in doing a Postdoc or PhD in 2025 on chromatin in Nematostella drop me a message :)
