- The value of local journalism: Last year, a plan was afoot to build golf courses and pickleball courts in state parks. Florida residents loudly objected -- as they had a decade ago when a similar proposal was rejected. It was reporting from the @tampabaytimes.bsky.social that exposed the plan. (1/2)

- When I was editor of the Sarasota Herald-Tribune, sheriff's deputies showed up at my door at 7 p.m. on a Friday night with a judge's order not to publish a story. That prior restraint was unconstitutional, like this order for a news organization to remove a published piece. I am hopeful that (1/x)
