If we go by record then the Austrian cardinal Schönborn would be the choice. He was the only cardinal to protest the cover-up of child sexual abuse in the church. He was punished by Benedict for doing that. Vindicated, but instead of doing a "I told you so" worked on reconciliation with the victims.
