- Did we find the pro quo?
- Trump II is a menagerie of evils, but never forget that a key theme has been, is, and always will be ostentatious corruption and monetization of the presidency.

- Nor does "not take the bait" make sense in the context of "the bait" being a relentless assault on critical democratic norms without which we have scant hope of rescuing our Republic from a hostile authoritarian regime.
- The journalistic norm of objectivity and both sides-ism relies on mainstream actors and parties acting in good faith. If a major party and its members stop acting in good faith, lie incessantly, and wage war on democracy, journalists are derelict in their duty if they keep up the both sides-ism.
- What if the frame was: "Zero Republican lawmakers raised concerns to the corruption of the President's plan to accept a luxury plane from the Qatari royal family" And the fact that the AG's last job was as a lobbyist for Qatar wasn't in the 13th graf www.nytimes.com/live/2025/05...

- Reposted by David Ryan MillerOverseeing the presidential gift rules was among my duties as White House Ethics Czar -- so I know how it's supposed to work The gift of this plane to Trump is illegal & unconstitutional The AG & the WH Counsel oughtta be ashamed of themselves for allowing it abcnews.go.com/Politics/tru...
- Reposted by David Ryan Miller“the president toured a half-billion dollar luxury 747 owned by the Qatari government which it then gave to him as a ‘gift’ and then he used it to replace Air Force One with the plan of keeping it after leaving office” is the most insane corruption any president has ever done and should end Trump
- Reposted by David Ryan MillerThere is no argument to be made that a Qatar-provided Air Force One can be made secure. A 747 contains hundreds of miles of wire and *millions* of parts. If it is not built as Air Force One, it is impossible to ever know that it is secure. Like the Russian embassy, it would have to be torn down.
- Reposted by David Ryan MillerThe corruption here isn’t even my biggest concern. The security risk!?! The security risk is astronomical and totally unfixable. Listening devices? Tracking devices!? Software backdoors!? Intentional AND unintentional!? Unmeasurable risk.
- Reposted by David Ryan MillerYes, American taxpayers, all of us, will be paying tens of millions of dollars to upgrade this private plane to allow it to be Air Force One. This too is a direct gift to Trump and his family from all of us.
