- JUST IN: Democrat John Ewing Jr. defeats Republican incumbent Jean Stothert in the Omaha mayoral race. Ewing, who is also a former deputy chief of police for Omaha, will become the city’s first Black mayor. In 2021, Stothert won by 27 points; today, she lost by more than 10, a massive swing.
