I tell my students this when they tell me about using AI. If you're using AI to do a thing, soon no one will get paid to do that thing.
Also, I tell them that AI is hella stupid and they're much smarter and much more creative than AI.

Wages. They're trying to use it to solve having to pay wages.
People should think of AI as a helper, not a replacer. Before spreadsheets, people calculated manually. Spreadsheets save time and may reduce how many people are involved, but you still need smart people to use and interpret them.
AI isn't a helper.
I don't think of AI as good or bad, it depends on how it's used. Fire can be used to keep us warm and safe, or to kill people. I understand concern over the people leading AI and their motivations, but there are applications of the tech that can be used to improve our lives.
