- For every (1) nuanced critique of fascist asthetics (like the one quoted below which is pretty good) there's at least 5 EXTREMELY whorephobic or misogynistic insults and so yeah I'm gonna keep posting because it lets me work on my blocklists
- I periodically post about misogyny and fatphobia as a kind of tar-pit for people to block
- Can we all just agree that Gavin Newsom is a piece of shit and get this out of the way before primary season? Really not looking forward to Newsom speedrunning the Tulsi Gabbard heelturn
- His arc seems more likely to be the kind festering, establishment, Rahm Emanuel style boil on the ass of the Democratic party to me, but hey; people like him have a way of finding new ways to disappoint even the lowest expectations.
- Honestly that's a best case scenario but I think Newsom has already escaped containment He's more like a Bill Clinton type, sadly
- Tulsi Gabbard was much better at hiding her fascism though. Must be all that experience from hiding that she's a part of a religious cult
- I called her out in 2020 and got yelled at by a lot of people who ended up going down that Grayzone rat hole
- to recap: democrats are cosponsoring legislation to harm at-risk people; taking meetings with a hate group; abandoning kidnapped people in el salvador; excommunicating anyone who thinks the party should do better; & ken martin’s best idea is to spend donations to fly a banner & troll the president?

View full threadi had like 125 followers on twitter and rarely posted but maybe my finest day there was being like, “this guy seems terrible but i don’t know much about him?” and one by one californians politely queued to tell me 3,000,000 unique stories of shame, disappointment, horror, and cringe.
- The problem with Newsom is that he's smart and he's good on his feet, and has fundraising connections And he's also a total piece of shit
- i am trying my level best to work with the tools we have in places where those tools can be useful because there are ways these people can hold an umbrella to buy time that can’t be easily mimicked by community solutions but like…you have my utmost contempt, democrats. keep digging that basement.
- Gavin Newsom right now
- If you feel "abandoned" because some scholars of fascism are moving to Canada, may I suggest developing and cultivating strong community bonds? Because if you're feeling well held-down by your community, some random author leaving the US is not a thing that should be upsetting you. You know?
- I think it has more symbolic value. Like when the bomb diffusing guy suddenly jumps up and starts running and you know things got real.
- I agree with the symbolic value. It's like "welp, writing is definitely on the wall" But there are people who are REALLY upset by this, and I believe that's a sign that those people have *only* symbols to hang onto right now. Being in community means we have more than just symbols to occupy us.
- Not a huge fan of how it's fair game to insult Kristi Noem's makeup or cosmetic procedures so easily. It supports the permission structure for attacking women about this kind of thing.
