- The Louisiana Channel has many great interviews with artists. I've watched this one with #photgrapher An-My Lê a couple of times.

- That is awesome. Reading that article though, I was struck by that whole all I need is my hoodies bit, said by a lot of rich guys who don’t know what it means not to have money. Still, much respect for him and his journey.
- I have yet to bear the heartbreak of any movie I've seen from Ukraine. 📽️
- Should add - we are seeing the Antonioni films in one marathon day - 3 films back to back. Shouldn't be too bad, having seen Santango (7 1/2 hours) a couple of times.
- Very excited about seeing Antonioni's Trilogy of Incommunicability in June at @filmlinc.bsky.social: L’avventura, La notte, L’eclisse 📽️ Such great films to see on the big screen.

- Now you're really missing NYC :)

- Yes! I put very little online because I think that few places block AI bots.
- Good time to buy from indies: "The NEA’s decision to terminate hundreds of grants, citing a realignment of priorities towards initiatives like “fostering AI competency,” echoes a disturbing trend in our cultural landscape, and a movement away from the empathetic, intellectually curious society...

- Well I really loved Past Lives, so, if it is good it's def subversive
- Am I missing something? It looks very retrograde, like a nineties oblivious romcom. Just judging by the trailer though. And apologies if I'm just yucking your yum here :)
- This is going to be amazing if for no other reason than to see Antonioni's trilogy on the big screen, yet, Monica Vitti... 📽️
- Stephen Shore's Masterclass From 12 to 16 May 2025 Jeu de Paume – Paris (Ticked event, on Zoom if you're not in Paris. ) Four lectures 1) The nature of photographs 2) Form and pressure 3) Attention 4) The Mental Level. #photography billetterie.jeudepaume.org/detail-cycle...
- It's not NYC without a rush hour subway meltdown. Yet, all these people were quite kind to one another getting out (this station uses elevators to exit). And a woman who saw me hanging out at the turnstiles (figuring out how to get home) offered to take care of my subway fare. #filmIsNotDead
- “Seven Recommended Rangefinder Focusing Techniques“ by Johnny Martyr has meant a lot to me, not so much for the specific tips, but for the confidence it gives me to keep on with my rangefinder journey, which feels more real and right to me but can be difficult at times. #leica #photography

- b&w!
- This view of Manhattan, from Williamsburg, always gives me a sense of what the skyline might have looked like a century ago. #believeInFilm
- Not a new concept (see Agnés Varda’s “Gleaners and I”), but nonetheless worthy endeavor:
- Inah Canabarro Lucas has died at 116 years old. Think about living to that age - think of the possibilities of living another 50, 60, 70 years and what you'll do with the time.
- The opening for the Bruce Davidson/Sara Messinger exhibit at #Leica NYC was huge and tons of fun. Really great photo community here.
- The 2024 #photography film "Ernest Cole: Lost and Found" is now streaming on Hulu. letterboxd.com/film/ernest-...
- I created a site on ghost.org to collect my writings on photography books and other things related to the #photography curriculum I created for myself. I may crosspost to substack (where the eyeballs are) if I can figure out an easy way to do so. Between the Lens and Me: www.between-the-lens.me

- Awesome - I like Ghost in part for its ethos: "...Ghost up as non-profit foundation so that it would always be true to its users, rather than shareholders or investors...the company can never be bought or sold...our revenue is reinvested into the product and the community ghost.org/about/

- Those are great. You don't mind guessing the framelines with that lens? I have it, but that seems to be a mental barrier for me.
- Saw Sinners at the Village East Angelica tonight in 70mm. Thoroughly fun movie.

- yeah, not sure when it was, but I think it's the same. Hard to be a theater owner these days, sadly.

- Wow, the 3.1 update for Film Lab are really significant for those of you who #believeinfilm.

- Strikes me as the best form of protest in the U.S.
- Very happy and proud to be a @bardcollege.bsky.social family: "At Bard...he seems to respond to every crisis by figuring out ways to teach more people. In the last quarter-century, Bard’s expansion has focused on people who would ordinarily not have access to a university education."

- The conversation with Matt Black in his work American Geography and American Artifacts could easily have gone on longer than the two hours. He's such an authentic and impassioned #photographer keeping the documentary tradition alive. Thanks to picturehouse + thesmalldarkroom!
- I think all Americans should watch the #film "The Banshees of Inisherin." It's a metaphor for war (including trade wars!), and—spoiler alert—those "alarming consequences" are pretty f*ing bad.
- So I guess the M11-P is now the baseline M #leica. It’s the same price as a new glossy black and the used M11/M11-P are close to the same price. So that means the glossy black is the only M11 without Content Credentials.
- At least the Russian press covered the #handsoff protests, in a predictable manner.
- While movie theaters are struggling (along with splintered communities of fewer shared spaces), here we have the first #film made for single person viewing. 90FPS has a fake feel to it. Perhaps this all something people will get used to.
