Raiders of the Lost Ark was made in 1981 and set in 1936, so an equivalent movie made today would be set in… 1980.
Ima go lie down.
Forbes: The Qataris have been trying to get rid of that ostentatious luxury jet for five years, but no one would buy it. It costs too much to fly, costs more to maintain, and needs too big a landing strip. They had another one they unloaded on Turkey.
Delicious.

Why The Qataris Are Happy To Dump Their 747 On Trump
The president may be thirsting for a new four-engine jumbo jet, but many governments and royal families are unloading their fuel-guzzling palaces in the sky.

💥 This is the type of speech Starmer could have given on immigration. But unlike the Spanish PM Pedro Sánchez, Starmer doesn't seem to feel any sense of duty, protection, or thanks towards the foreigners in the UK who are holding this country together.

I left my phone on a train like an idiot and someone *handed it in at lost property* like something out of the 1950s, not bad for an island of strangers (also, thankyou)

Winston Churchill's mother was an immigrant.
#NotStrangersA mysterious supernova discovered in 2014 stayed bright for years, defying expectations by brightening and fading multiple times. Scientists suspect a massive star, possibly generating antimatter, caused the repeated eruptions.

UK to start talks on return hubs for failed asylum seekers???
You mean like the ‘Dublin Agreement’ which we had whilst in the EU, to enable the UK to return failed asylum seekers.
A new agreement that we will now have to pay for?

This morning, the Supreme Court hears a landmark case on Birthright Citizenship.
At stake? The 14th Amendment. The right to citizenship by birth.
Pay attention. History is being made, right now.
Plot line: Dehumanize migrants, making it acceptable to terrorize them.

The painful truth is that UK voted to leave EU, and entrusted negotiations to a dire team, led by Johnson and Frost, who agreed a lousy deal for ideological reasons. The EU initially offered better terms, and they rejected them. Now, we face the consequences of this self-inflicted disaster.
As I said yesterday, these are the usual final haggles in negotiations, but they reflect very badly on an EU that already got a deal heavily balanced in its favour and now greedily returns for more.
She was 9 weeks pregnant. She died. The state of Georgia is making the doctors keep her alive to incubate the baby. She’s been dead for three months. This is REAL. this isn’t about what should or should not be done. This is about having a VOICE. This is about having a CHOICE.
RIP Joe Don Baker
His ridiculously charismatic performance as CIA agent Darius Jedburgh in the brilliant mini-series Edge of Darkness is an all-timer & his rapport with Bob peck is off the charts.
Loved him in everything but see this if you haven’t.

I am still so proud of our election campaign in Islington North last summer.
Why? Because it was made up of people of all backgrounds, languages and faiths.
This was no group of strangers. This was a community, campaigning for a better society for all.
Reform is a Limited Company
Farage owns 53%
It was formed in 2019 to push for a “no-deal Brexit”
It wants to reintroduce the Liz Truss budget

That perches in the soul
And sings the tune without the words

Here's the full leaked recording of Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp admitting that it's now harder to return asylum seekers who previously claimed asylum in Europe to that first safe country.
And it's because of the botched Brexit deal that Boris Johnson claimed was a success.
