Long time suffering Tottenham fan, who takes more than a passing interest in world events. Hates liars, fake news merchants, right wing grifters. Politically I am neither Left or Right wing. I'm in the politcial wilderness..nobody to vote for.

- I am starting to dislike @bsky.app almost as much as I hated Xitter. It's sad, but true, for me.

- They could not organise a piss up in a brewery, this lot. Absolute amateurs.
- The USA is one sick, disfunctional, shit hole nation. Prove me wrong.
- Appalling response from Starmer. Had to watch it twice to believe it. And Angela Rayner staring into a void like she’s being held hostage. It’s just sad.
- Plaid Cymru's Liz Saville Roberts asks about the PM's recent speech on immigration and his comment about an "island of strangers". "Somebody here has to call this out. Is there any belief he holds which survives a week in Downing Street?" #PMQs
- I had such high hopes for Starmer when he got elected. Those hopes are now completely broken. His Labour party is not something I will ever support again, until he's gone...
- Portugal is taking online disinformation and fake news seriously. As part of a broader attempt to encourage media literacy, it’s offering 15-18 year olds a free digital subscription to a range of respected newspapers and magazines as well as online upstarts that don’t spread lies. (Monocle)

- I agree, I very much hope it takes off. I am deeply skeptical though. Apologies for my doom message, but I have a brother, once sensible, now FULLY indoctrinated and firmly in the rabbit hole. He ain't coming out for nothing..
- Great idea, but I doubt whether that specific age group will ever be dragged away from Facebook/Whatsapp etc. The damage, in my opinion, has been done.
- The absolute proof that they have no idea what they are doing. A govt of pure morons. A band of chimpanzees could outsmart them.
- “.. The key argument was that this was beginning to hurt Trump’s supporters — Trump’s people,” one person briefed on the talks said. @washingtonpost.com #TACO 🌮 www.washingtonpost.com/business/202...

- Zelenskyy will not meet with any Russian representative in Istanbul except Putin, his spokesperson says. And Putin won’t want to attend.
- [Not loaded yet]
- The meeting wouldn't be broadcast live on TV, but in private. Russian media would spin the outcome in Putin's favour. I double down here, Putin is a scared pussy.
- Putin wouldn't be able to look Zelensky in the eye. Putin is afraid of meeting Zelensky.
- Seventeen years ago today. The guys in the booth must have had fun rolling on this. 🤡
- Sums up the USA to me, this video.
- If you thought the PM’s speech was punchy, his foreword to the immigration white paper says high net migration has done “incalculable damage” to the country. That is a serious shift in tone for a Labour government/party.
- [Not loaded yet]
- There was a rumour going round last week that *some* Labour MP's were considering defecting to Reform. This *could* be a play by Starmer to convince *some* to stay. I can see no other reason for what he is doing. It is political suicide.

- ..it's called doing a Sunak.
- The Prime Minister imitating Enoch Powell’s ‘Rivers of Blood’ speech is sickening. That speech fuelled decades of racism and division. Echoing it today is a disgrace. It adds to anti-migrant rhetoric that puts lives at risk. Shame on you, Keir Starmer.
- Thank you for speaking out here. Very brave, but also stating the complete obvious.
- The European “Coalition of the Willing” has issued an ultimatum to Putin to bring in the 30-day ceasefire by the end of the day or harsh sanctions will be imposed. The Kremlin: “The language of ultimatums is unacceptable for Moscow. It is impossible to talk to Russia in such a language.”
- Putin's gonna go straight to Signal Chat and message his mass of buddies in the USA for help.
- Starmer’s immigration focus is the dumbest, stupidest piece of political manoeuvring I’ve seen in a long time. His rhetoric is going to split his coalition and whatever he promises will only drive the racists to demand more. You can’t placate them. It’s a losing strategy.

- Is he actually stupid? I am doubting his intellect. Or is he doing a Sunak and just trying to escape the building as quickly as possible?
- Yvette Cooper gives an exclusive interview to GB News about her immigration plans, during which the interviewer tells her that some of their viewers live near asylum seekers and their "children can't leave home". No push back from the Home Secretary
- Perhaps this bullshit is in the small print of the USA-UK "Trade deal"....
- This is a horror show.

- I can only imagine the level of disgust in the minds of the Labour back benchers. They must be absolutely furious. Brave people need to speak up...if any remain.
- He is rubber stamping his own exit strategy as PM. This Govt. are a shambles. They have no core Labour values. In short, they are Tory/Reform light.
- Probably too extreme for Margaret Thatcher..speaks volumes.

- Racists leave for racist nation. It's an ideal situation..
- The government’s abject surrender in the immigration conversation will not necessarily lose them votes. But it won’t win any either because a) for good or for ill, the small boats are the really emotive issue & b) people who simply resent immigrants will always favour Farage. He’s one of their own.

- You are 100% correct.
- I have also voted Labour at every GE I’ve been able bar one because I was abroad. I also cannot support this.
- You can add my name to the list. A shocking and brainless decision by this current govt. I am out.
- Home Secretary Yvette Cooper says Labour will restrict the number of care workers from abroad. Going forward employers should recruit locally. One thing we learned from Brexit: Brits will not fill all those jobs that immigrants currently do.
- I've lost all repect for her. Expect a load more abuse cases to appear soon in care homes etc. It's a brainless decision by her. Minimum wage brits are just not going to attract the right sort of person.

- And people actually voted for these numpties. Reform will destroy these areas. Hopefully the wider electorate take notice...but I suspect a load of bad news stories will be ignored my MSN.
- It’s my regular contention that “immigration” is just code for racism. No one ever complains about Australians coming into the UK or US. So it’s disturbing to see Labour’s Home Secretary describing the current immigration rules as a “failed free market experiment”.
- Starmer must hate his core base supporters. If he continues on this route, they're doomed at the next election. What an absolute idiot.
- I also thought Cooper was better than this. Actually she knows she's better than this.

- You can add track 5 & 6 to that in my honest opinion. I think "Mike Mills" is one of their standout moments as a band. Phenomenal flow to the track. And @darrenkk.bsky.social , you also have great taste !

- Morning Bluesky. Pakistan Defence Minister Khawaja Asif: “Pakistan is not currently considering the possibility of using its nuclear arsenal.”
- That comment does not fill me with any confidence whatsoever. These two nations need their heads banging together.
- Going to be unpopular opinion - but I think Starmer’s administration did a good job saving steel and call exporters to the US, while resisting any dilution of internet or food standards. Playing to Trump’s ego can sometimes work. But our future lies with closer ties to the EU
- I am with you 100% on this.
- Robert Francis Prevost has been chosen as the new Pope. He’s seen as a progressive on some issues, championing immigrants and the poor. He’s chosen the name Leo XIV.
