- I’m not throwing myself into the discussions on indie budgets, weird pedestals and underdog fantasies, but I do want to say a lot of the confusion could easily be dismantled if there was more transparency in the game development process. From funding to dev cycle to production to ship.
- I think the process could really be demystified — especially to devs themselves. I feel like the GDC panel I was on this year — that talked about multiclassing in games and learning other pipelines than just your own — is huge in understanding this.
- And to be clear — I think it’s important to break down success stories and share information with each other. I think it’s HEALTHY to look into processes and see what we can learn as an industry from it.
- Sometimes, I think to myself, with a sense of mania, that I would really enjoy writing romantasy — Maybe it’s time. 😔✨
