  Please read this thread and remember one other thing... If you've seen many courtroom dramas, you've probably seen that scene where a defendant wants to defend himself and the judge ALWAYS says that's a terrible idea. That's what you're doing when you talk to the cops.

    The Miranda warning says that anything you say can and will be used against you, it doesn't mention anything, whatsoever, about anything you say being used to *exonerate* you in court. You literally cannot possibly talk yourself out of guilt, only ever into it.
