- there’s also the fact that threads is growing because meta is sending people there from instagram, which is a super powerful, but distorting force. bluesky is growing strictly by word of mouth, which is naturally *noisier* and easier to notice as an outside observer
- the traffic from ig is also why “growing one whole bluesky” doesn’t actually show that meta’s product is solving the social problem better than bluesky

- the thing about horror movies is that they’re supposed to scare you! so many of us learn that “winning” a horror movie is being unafraid, but the real catharsis comes from experiencing fear without danger. it’s normally hard to get to know our afraid selves, because the real threat is more important
- sensitivities and patterns and trauma around fear and safety can make enjoying fear totally impossible for a lot of folks - ptsd is super real - but the trick to horror movies is to expect and lean into the fear, not to avoid it. this is why horror heads are annoyed when a movie isn’t scary enough!
- maybe i’m slow, but i just realized that elon wants to be the next leader of the gop after trump (probably even be the next president, since rules don’t matter)
