- Would be great if Dems weren't often as bad at knowing basic shit about our region as Republicans are. Qatar and Iran are not 'allies', and Qatar has the largest US military base in the region. There are so many ways you can point out how obviously corrupt this is without being stupid
- It’s complicated. Qatar and Iran have a close relationship. Qatar also works with Hamas. Sometimes Qatar is viewed as a mediator between Iran, Hamas, Israel, and the US. Some people don’t trust that and urge caution with them. They are political, clever, and intentionally maneuver themselves.
