- Finally finished a book after months of not being able to. The Jasmine Throne: solidly 3.65/5? A good number. Very much in camp “want to keep reading trilogy” while also bucking the trend of everyone wanting books to be shorter, I in fact wish it was longer so it could flesh certain things out.

View full threadBut that’s important. I think that some of the wider narrative exists (regardless of what genitalia is attached) due to aspects of sex being an escape in of itself for many, right? I think it says a lot about tension inherent with sex in our culture. Baggage means less vulnerability, more jump cuts

- I really appreciate the time and thought you put into these topics. I wish we lived in a wider culture where it wasn’t so taboo to talk about sex openly. Taboo contributes to so many problems that crop up in fictional sex, tbh.
- Kettlebells have given me my art back, and I’m returning to them again to make my body feel right again. Strength training is godly. And you don’t have to train to someone else’s ability level. Just train to yours.

- One of our shop regulars was talking about wanting to start a drink and draw (he works at a game studio) and I am realizing just how sorely I need that. We’ve been slowly talking about it and getting people interested. Mid-30s adults take a little time. I need more art, less existential dread.

- That’s awesome! Maybe I can make it out that way eventually. I’m hoping we can set something up here on the other side of the bridge, but with some big events coming up, it’s been hard to sort out when/what’s best. We also still need to keep clearing out our dead inventory 😩 no space for activities

- The existential dread has been bad this week. So, I’ve oil painted, got the gouache back in form. Writing always takes me less time to dust off. I have no idea how I am going to balance this with helping run the shop, find more ways to be active locally, and also take care of myself, but I need it.
- My partner is Canadian and I keep having this disturbing thought that if I go to visit them, I should be prepared to have trouble returning. That instills a further fear that I should be preparing to go. None of these are helpful uses of my time or energy, regardless of how well-honed my anxiety is
