- Shameful. "Several law firm partners who have done significant pro bono work in the past told CNN that lawyers at large firms now may think twice before pitching cases that would step too far into politics." www.cnn.com/2025/05/07/p...
- But is it true what I heard about law firms who made a deal with Donald saying he'd get all this pro bono work that Trump didn't read the fine print. All the law firms apparently specified they'd only do work they chose including defending veterans benefits, etc. If true, it's a nice Uno reverseMay 7, 2025 12:36
- As though Trump would accept that excuse …
- They can challenge it in court but then if he does, they can just rescind the deal.
- Because Trump is famous for immediately doing what courts tell him to do? These firms caved once, they’ll cave again, and again, and again … Once a craven, always a craven.
- It's the one place where they can throw him in jail for not following the rules or incur a bigger penalty. He knows this. It's why he feels he must go outside and rant with reams of paper full of weird comments.
- That was in the before times. SCOTUS gave him criminal immunity, and he controls the AG who controls the Federal Marshals. Ain’t nobody throwing Trump in jail for anything while he’s President, he knows this, it’s why Kilmar Abrego Garcia is still in El Salvador.
- OK. But you can get Kilmar back if you start putting people who aren't at that high level in jail. They think they're going to be immune from prosecution. But if Trump issues them a pardon, they have to admit guilt to accept it which you can probably fire them for for having a criminal conviction
- Or we can all just do nothing and we'll all sit here complaining about our wallowing in the mud.
