- I guess I'm not sure how to answer this in a general sense other than saying that the scenes are there to further chatacter/romance development and the plot. #writinglifemonthly #writesky #writingcommunity #booksky

- #WritingLifeMonthly #Day11 The goals for my scenes are to offer more than one byproduct. Character development, plot, and information are all important in each scene, but I also want to bring the beauty of the scenery to weave through most scenes.

- I haven't decided on the 'big bad' antagonist yet as I'm focusing on my characters, their development, and the romance elements. I have picked a small time 'antagonist' who hasn't done much yet. I'm getting there slowly! #writinglifemonthly #writesky #booksky #writingcommunity

- I would like to think so. They are a serial killer that's conflicting with the MCs love story. It does make things difficult but very intriguing #WritingLifeMonthly

- Yes, I believe Molly is a compelling antagonist for the Sigma S Star gang. With Molly and her band the Moondreamers I've kept in mind that they're really the protagonists of their OWN story that features Sigma S Star as the antagonists! Or as a sideshow... #writinglifemonthly

- #WritingLifeMonthly 7. I think Taipan is compelling. And I think she makes great conflict when she's involved. She’s more of a background antagonist, but she has presence just about everywhere, cause everyone knows about her, everyone imp. has some kind of con to her and so on

- Usually, my characters are warring with themselves as much as any outside conflicts. I'm a character writer, so I enjoy the psychology of difficult situations and/or mismatched personalities (grumpy/sunshine). For me, it's more about stakes than a single villain or antagonist. #writinglifemonthly
- #WritingLifeMonthly #Day7 As with most #TimeTravel stories, the antagonist inevitably is the space/time continuum’s impact on the present and future. The secondary antagonist is AI. We’ll see how real it’s gonna get…
- I'm currently working on a cozy piece that I started to just have fun, but now I love the characters. A plot is slowly coming, but I haven't thought of an antagonist within the main story. I'm writing much more calmly than I have others, working in bits and pieces. #amwriting #writinglifemonthly

- #WritingLifeMonthly A big concern is the bad guys don’t get involved for a while. The main focus is getting the prices of the puzzle, and they provide a ticking clock at the last leg. Some introduce ideas, and one is left to be a big problem later. But this isn’t a human villain focused story.

- #WritingLifeMonthly I kinda struggle to create good antagonists. A lot of my stories are character vs environment so the "antagonist" is the city of Saint Martin, or Possum Trot, or Tacust.

- #WritingLifeMonthly #Day6 Midpoint? Yes. Climax? Yes. Resolution? Hoo boy, do I!
- #WritingLifeMonthly Day 6 Midpoint, climax, resolution: Clear, yes. Satisfactory, not so much. But it will come together. It always does.
- 🔎 #WritingLifeMonthly May Day 06 ✏️ Have you planned/written a clear midpoint, climax, and resolution? Did you find it hard to plan or write any of them? #WritingCommunity #AmEditing #AmWriting #WriteSky
- #WritingLifeMonthly The climax and resolution are really clearly defined and I'm really happy with their overall shape. I'm not as sure about midpoint because there's a swerve just before halfway through. I think I've gotta think about more tightly binding the plot swerve to MC's internal crisis...

- I was stressing out over this until late last month when I realized I was mixing up inciting incident with the first turning point in a novel. The story is set in motion when my MC says, "I do." The poor woman doesn't know what she's gotten herself into! 🤣 #WritingLifeMonthly #incitingincident
- #writinglifemonthly Oooh what a lovely question. I'll answer for individual stories in the thread, but in general, I start with all of these planned out ahead of time.
- 🔎 #WritingLifeMonthly May Day 06 ✏️ Have you planned/written a clear midpoint, climax, and resolution? Did you find it hard to plan or write any of them? #WritingCommunity #AmEditing #AmWriting #WriteSky
- Yep! Usually, I have the climax figured out long in advance, and then I figure out the midpoint along the way. Sometimes this means changing the climax, though. #writingcommunity #writinglifemonthly
- 🔎 #WritingLifeMonthly May Day 06 ✏️ Have you planned/written a clear midpoint, climax, and resolution? Did you find it hard to plan or write any of them? #WritingCommunity #AmEditing #AmWriting #WriteSky
- Midpoint? Not really. Climax? Yes. Resolution? Working on it. I'm a wee bit worried that I have to many "mini climaxes" - Liam gets into a *lot* of trouble - and that the final doesn't hit hard enough. Working on that. #WritingLifeMonthly #WritingCommunity

- The inciting event of a story is not just the moment that status quo gets flipped upside down for the protagonist. But it's also the moment when the reader gets a glimpse of who or what the main antagonist is for the story. #WritingTip #WritingLifeMonthly #WritingCommunity
- At the midpoint, there is a tonal shift in a story, where the protagonist stops just reacting to what is happening, but they take on a proactive stance. #WritingTip #WritingLifeMonthly #WritingCommunity
- At the final climax of a story, if you have stacked your tension up correctly, it could be either a win for the protagonist or a win for the antagonist. And no, your antagonist doesn't need to be a character. #WritingTip #WritingLifeMonthly #WritingCommunity
- During the aftermath (or the resolution), core plot points are given some form of ending. Not all plot threads need to be tidied up. Leave some threads open. But the main ones need to come to some sort of close. Show the reader the new status quo. #WritingTip #WritingLifeMonthly #WritingCommunity
- Combining Day 5 & 6 for #WritingLifeMonthly: Story structure is more important than many writers give it credit for. I've developed a model that incorporates the antagonist, and it starts with the inciting event. #WritingTip #WritingCommunity blackwolfeditorial.com/bw-story-str...

- For SOM, it's all written down (a complete written series) but didn't plan for most of the major plot points. I'm a pantser 😅 I struggle so hard in the resolution. Everything else comes easily once I get there, but the ending takes me a few tries to figure it out #WritingLifeMonthly
