A dirty little publishing secret is that it honestly doesn’t matter if your one page synopsis is a page and a half, so long as it’s well written. Three pages is probably too long though
Mar 15, 2025 14:50No one is tallying the words in a synopsis or query letter. It’s too time consuming. The word counts agents suggest are meant to encourage you to write clearly and concisely. That’s the real requirement
You’re much more likely to get rejected for a confusing query/synopsis than one that’s a paragraph too long. Take that extra paragraph if you need it.
