French-Moroccans independently invented the California burrito?
Even a California burrito wouldn’t have the genius to include bechamel
Thanks for a re-centering context.
I have pretty specific expectations for a California burrito, where it looks like French tacos took fries + flour tortilla as a base for a family of dishes.
I was in Switzerland but couldn't convince my family to try them, so I've never had one! But yeah, my understanding is you just put fries, meat sauce, and a giant tortilla, then panini-ize the whole thing. Sounds smutty, but good.

Kind of a cross between a burrito and a “mitraillette” (a typically Belgian thing and a great hangover food: a French baguette with hamburger meat, fries and a dollop of your favourite sauce).
