He was sitting on the fence at the back of the property! He kept going “whock!” I was trying to figure out wtf this round bird with a white thing on its head was, because it did not fit my mental image of quail!
Mumphrey was a Gambel’s quail, I fear!
Fair, fair. Also the *goodest* boi. In this house we stan Mumphrey. (I have read Harriet to more people than you would expect. Several of them over the age of 30.)
